About Perry Weather

Perry Weather is the weather safety standard for organizations that operate outdoors. We combine on-site weather hardware with a software platform that automates alerts, siren activations, and safety decisions for more than 3,000 organizations — from the PGA of America, the NFL, and MLB to Turner Construction, thousands of school districts, cities, and golf courses. We've grown 80%+ annually for five consecutive years, and are continuing to grow.

We're headquartered in Dallas at The Centrum, in the Oak Lawn neighborhood, where our teams work together every day to help organizations make faster and safer decisions when weather puts people, assets, and operations at risk.

About the Role

We're scaling the team and looking for a Product Designer to help bring our next phase of growth to life. UX here is a harder design problem than most B2B SaaS. Our users aren't at a desk — they're an athletic director with seconds to clear a field, a foreman in gloves on a 500-acre job site, a GM whose distribution center loses $10,000 for every minute of downtime. The consequence of a confusing interface isn't a bad NPS score, it could mean the protection of real people and assets. If you want design work where clarity under pressure actually matters, this is it.

End-to-end product design

  • Lead UX/UI for your team, from early concept through shipped feature. Talk to customers, define what success looks like, and make the scope calls alongside PM and engineering.
  • Run discovery calls, user research, and usability tests, and engage directly with customers rather than working from secondhand notes.
  • Write clear, thoughtful copy across the product. Words are design too.
  • QA and test releases. You're accountable for what actually ships, not what was in the file.

Ship fast without creating rework

  • Use AI to explore ten directions instead of two, build functioning prototypes in code rather than clickable mockups, and put something real in front of a customer within hours or days of a problem being framed.
  • Define what "ready for engineering" means and hold the bar. Design comprehensive workflows that account for every edge case, not just the happy path.
  • Build and maintain a scalable design system and component library tied to our front-end, so the next feature is faster than the last one.

Hold a point of view

  • Have a strong, defensible opinion about where the platform should go, and bring proposals rather than waiting for direction.
  • Own coherence across the entire platform. Our products span multiple industries, use cases, and personas and should feel like one integrated experience.
  • Help shape Perry Weather’s design voice both in-product and across customer-facing touchpoints.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of product design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS.
  • Proven ability to design complex, data-heavy workflows for non-desktop users in real operating conditions.
  • Mastery of Figma, including components, tokens, and auto layout — and a working habit of moving past Figma to prototypes when a prototype answers the question faster.
  • Fluency with AI tools as a core part of how you bring designs to life.
  • Experience building and operationalizing design systems tied to front-end frameworks (React, MUI, or similar).
  • Deep product thinking that blurs the line of PMs and Engineering.
  • Fluency in UX research methods and comfort talking to customers directly.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with instincts for edge cases and accessibility.
  • Strong writing and communication skills. You value copy as much as visuals.
  • Comfortable owning multiple projects in a fast-moving environment with minimal oversight.

Benefits

  • You'll want to come into the office. Our Oak Lawn office isn't just a place to sit — it's where ideas move fast and culture stays strong. The whole team is here Monday through Friday, which means real collaboration, no chasing people down over Slack, and a genuinely fun place to spend your work days.
  • Your wellbeing is covered. Competitive health insurance, 401(k) with employer matching, and a full suite of voluntary benefits, because you shouldn't have to think twice about the basics.
  • Good people, good times. Monthly All-Hands, Office Olympics, happy hours, and more. We take the work seriously and the culture seriously too.
  • You're getting in early, and that matters. We're growing fast, but the biggest opportunities are still ahead. The people joining now will help shape what Perry Weather becomes.
