Why we need this role
This role is part of the Infrastructure Planning team within the Operations & Engineering function, focusing on planning and delivering infrastructure at third-party Data Centre (DC) sites to support Core Network growth and deployment. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing space, power, and cabling infrastructure, procuring equipment, and executing builds for capacity upgrades, backbone expansion and optimization projects and core network installations supporting customer demand. The role also manages commercial activities such as purchase order creation, infrastructure procurement, business case development, and financial forecasting to ensure efficient and cost-effective infrastructure delivery.
What you will do
Key Responsibilities
- Manage data centre capacity planning (space, power, and inventory), conduct site surveys and rack audits, and maintain accurate capacity reporting.
- Plan, procure, and implement infrastructure and network equipment, including racks, power, cabling, patch panels, and network hardware.
- Coordinate with field teams and vendors to deliver infrastructure builds, while managing COLO space and power requests and tracking approvals.
- Support data centre consolidation, footprint and power optimization, network expansion projects and site exit activities.
- Prepare financial forecasts, cost estimates, purchase orders and business cases for infrastructure investments and capacity growth initiatives.
What we're looking for
Skills & Experience
- 4-8 years of experience in a telecommunications service provider environment, with expertise in network asset planning, configuration, documentation, and inventory management.
- Good understanding of Data Centre architecture fundamentals, including space, power, and cabling considerations.
- Experience or exposure to infrastructure planning and capacity management, including rack, power, and cabling design, site surveys, and field implementation activities.
- Awareness of WDM and IP networking technologies and associated network equipment.
- Contributing to network capacity planning to ensure network reliability.
- Proactively taking opportunities to build capability, including learning to use Network Virtualizations technologies and Automation tools to provide scalability.
- Exposure to inventory systems such as Amdocs ARM, Siebel/XTRAC, Premise Master.
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive documentation of changes to the network and configurations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis, with the ability to interpret capacity, inventory, and financial data to support planning and decision-making
- Exposure to procurement systems SAP Ariba, and SAP ERP is desirable.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Certifications in Data Centre Design, Data Centre Infrastructure, Power Systems or related fields are preferred
