We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial interior construction projects from contract award through final closeout. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing projects involving drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and other commercial interior finishes.
This role is responsible for project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, subcontractor coordination, cost control, and client communication to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial interior construction projects from award through completion and final closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and execution strategies.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work to identify requirements and potential issues.
- Coordinate with general contractors, clients, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams.
- Monitor project costs, labor productivity, material expenses, change orders, billing, and profitability.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, invoices, change orders, and project documentation.
- Coordinate material procurement and track deliveries to maintain project schedules.
- Conduct jobsite visits to monitor safety, quality, productivity, and installation progress.
- Oversee subcontractor and vendor performance and resolve project-related issues.
- Identify project risks and implement solutions to minimize cost overruns and delays.
- Lead project meetings and communicate updates to clients, general contractors, and internal teams.
- Coordinate with estimating and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to execution.
- Identify scope changes, change-order opportunities, and potential cost exposures.
- Oversee punch lists, project turnover, warranty requirements, and final closeout.
- 3+ years of project management experience in commercial interior construction.
- Required: Hands-on experience managing projects involving drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior finish systems.
- Strong knowledge of commercial interior construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost control.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work.
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, clients, and multiple project stakeholders.
- Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, billing, and project closeout.
- Understanding of labor productivity, material costs, subcontractor management, and project financials.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
