Overview 

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing project execution from design through closeout, with a strong emphasis on project controls, schedule management, cost control, forecasting, risk management, construction administration, and performance reporting. The Project Manager partners with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure project objectives, budgets, schedules, and quality standards are achieved.

Recognized for subject matter expertise and collaborative problem-solving, this individual contributes meaningfully to team success while elevating the client experience. This role includes mentoring and guiding junior colleagues in select technical areas, offering support and reinforcing best practices. The Project Manager works closely with project leadership to assess scope and anticipate downstream implications of execution decisions.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Comprehensive Project Execution: 

Lead day-to-day management of assigned capital construction projects, ensuring schedules, budgets, quality standards, and project control objectives are met. Monitor critical path activities and proactively address schedule, cost, and risk impacts.

  • Client Communication Strategy: Contribute to client-facing communication plans and delivery strategies. Support message consistency across stakeholders and suggest appropriate tools and mediums for updates and engagement.

Project Documentation & Ownership: Maintain project controls documentation, including schedules, meeting records, action logs, risk registers, budget reports, and milestone tracking systems. Ensure project deliverables are clearly defined and actively monitored through completion.

  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: 

Lead project controls reporting activities including schedule analysis, budget monitoring, forecasting, variance reporting, earned progress evaluation, and KPI tracking. Provide actionable recommendations to address schedule delays, budget variances, and emerging project risks.

  • Contractual Awareness & Operational Compliance: 

Review contract requirements, project constraints, change orders, and consultant/vendor obligations to ensure project execution remains aligned with contractual commitments and risk management objectives.

  • Financial Task Execution:

Manage project financial controls including budget development, cost tracking, forecasting, contingency management, cash-flow monitoring, invoice review, and change order evaluation.

  • Meeting Preparation & Facilitation: Participate in internal and client meetings, contributing to agenda planning, discussion leadership, and follow-up coordination. Adjust communication style based on audience dynamics. 
  • Stakeholder Coordination:

Coordinate closely with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and vendors to align project controls processes, schedule expectations, reporting requirements, and issue resolution strategies

  • Procurement & Relocation Support: Coordinate procurement tasks and relocation activities, working with internal teams and external vendors to align with project specifications and logistics
  •  Documentation Follow-Up: Maintain detailed records of meeting outcomes, decisions, and open items. Drive closure through proactive engagement with responsible parties. 
  • Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing: Informally coach junior team members in technical areas, sharing best practices and reinforcing project standards. Provide feedback and encouragement to support skill development and project contribution. 

Preferred experience: 

Owner's Representative (OPM) or Owner-side project management experience

 

Requirements:

Experience 

Typically, 7+ years of construction project management, owner's project management (OPM), project controls, or capital project delivery experience.

Proven ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables across complex multi-phase construction projects.

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing metrics and budget data to inform execution 

Skills 

  • Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills 

• Strong understanding of project controls principles, schedule management, and cost control practices

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reporting, forecasting, and data analysis

• Experience with construction management platforms

• Ability to interpret construction schedules and identify critical path impact
