Full description

SRC Logistics (SRCL) | Full-Time | Primarily Remote — Missouri Residency Required

SRC Logistics is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own the infrastructure and operational processes supporting our enterprise SaaS platforms. Our systems serve international enterprise customers, support complex integrations, and process transactions with substantial financial consequences.

At SRCL, this role combines senior software engineering capabilities with extensive systems administration experience. You must understand how application code, databases, servers, networks, and security controls work together—and how changes affect customers and business operations.

Working closely with software engineering and IT, you will keep RLMS and related services reliable, secure, and maintainable. The position reports to the Senior Software Architect.

What You Will Do

  • Independently identify, prioritize, and resolve operational needs within your assigned responsibilities and authority.
  • Maintain and improve production and nonproduction Linux servers, LAMP environments, and supporting infrastructure across AWS and on-premises environments.
  • Support SaaS availability, security, performance, and recovery commitments.
  • Maintain backups, database replication and transaction-log shipping, certificates, DNS, access controls, and monitoring.
  • Support infrastructure for internal and customer integrations, including APIs, SFTP, proxies, and file transfers.
  • Investigate incidents across software and infrastructure boundaries and address underlying causes.
  • Conduct routine operational and security reviews, remediate findings, and support customer security requirements.
  • Automate recurring work and maintain technical documentation and recovery procedures.
  • Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and resilience improvements through established engineering change controls.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience operating production Linux environments supporting business-critical applications.
  • Strong LAMP expertise, including Apache, PHP runtime configuration, and MySQL/MariaDB operations.
  • Software engineering skills sufficient to troubleshoot application code, develop maintainable automation, and assess the impact of infrastructure changes.
  • Experience with AWS, DNS, TLS certificates, reverse proxies, firewalls, and web application firewalls.
  • Experience with backups, restoration testing, replication, monitoring, and production incident response.
  • Ability to diagnose problems involving authentication, HTTP/API traffic, databases, networking, and customer integrations.
  • Demonstrated discipline in planning, testing, documenting, reviewing, and safely executing production changes.
  • Sound judgment, clear communication, and the ability to work independently while keeping work and risks visible.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI in a hybrid fashion to assist with planning, scripting and documentation

Helpful Experience

Experience with Amazon Route 53, Check Point WAF, PRTG/SNMP, centralized logging, Microsoft Server administration, security scanning tools, and SOC 2 readiness is beneficial.

Work Expectations

This is a full-time, primarily remote position requiring Missouri residency. Most major production changes will occur outside normal business hours, with coordinated flex time during business hours. The role also includes after-hours response to significant service incidents under established coverage and escalation arrangements.

The position requires a transparent work schedule and accurate time reporting in 15-minute increments. Changes must follow SRCL’s planning, testing, technical review, and approval procedures. Routine work may be performed under documented, preapproved procedures and delegated authority.

Following an initial supervised training period, the engineer is expected to independently own assigned operational responsibilities. Direct production access and delegated authority will expand as technical competence, business familiarity, sound judgment, and adherence to security and change-control requirements are demonstrated.
