Benefits
Full description
Lead the teams that get our software securely into production and keep customers running, whether they use our cloud, AWS GovCloud or their own environments. You will report to the CEO, sit on the Senior Leadership Team and lead our DevOps and Support teams.
Security and compliance are part of our product, not an afterthought. You will be the accountable owner for how we ship, run and support it, and the technical voice of VisibleThread with customers and prospects.
- Own our AWS GovCloud environment and its compliance posture (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, SOC 2).
- Own release from engineering into production, for our cloud and for customers who host VisibleThread themselves.
- Run cloud operations: availability, observability, incident response and cost across commercial AWS and GovCloud.
- Lead the secure SDLC and vulnerability management, plus CI/CD and developer tooling.
- Lead Support and be the final escalation point for customer issues, including on-premise and restricted environments.
- Build and develop the DevOps and Support teams, and be our technical adviser to strategic customers.
- 12+ years in software, DevOps, SRE or platform engineering, with 5+ years leading technical teams, ideally across operations and customer support.
- Hands-on ownership of a FedRAMP, NIST 800-53 or similar government compliance program, ideally in AWS GovCloud.
- Deep experience running production workloads on AWS: availability, incident management, observability and cost.
- CI/CD and secure SDLC experience: SBOM, dependency and static scanning, remediation SLAs.
- Experience supporting software that customers run on premise, and enough Java/Spring depth to be credible with engineers.
- Comfort as a customer-facing technical leader, and experience leading remote teams across time zones.
- Experience using AI to automate operations, support or developer workflows.
- US citizenship.
Nice to have: Microsoft 365 GCC/GCC High or other US government cloud experience, Datadog or similar tools, and experience as accountable owner in a FedRAMP assessment.
VisibleThread builds document-intelligence software for proposal, bid and compliance teams in government agencies, defense contractors and regulated enterprises. Customers run it in our cloud, in AWS GovCloud, in their private cloud, on premises or in air-gapped environments.
Location: Virginia / Washington DC metro area, US; remote-friendly with regular overlap with our Ireland-based team (on-site expectations to be confirmed).
