The purpose of the Data Scientist role is:
Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement. Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.
A typical day at ACI for a Data Scientist is:
- Develops predictive models for customers utilizing a variety of statistical and machine learning algorithms.
- Holds responsibility for projects of a moderate degree of complexity and very large volume datasets.
- Executes all stages of model development and delivery including data definition, sampling, preprocessing, feature selection, model generation, and validation and support or production model release.
- Validates and prepares data for model development, performs exploratory data analysis and data cleaning on large datasets and queries and visualizes data with a variety of tools.
- Works collaboratively with a team of scientists and engineers responsible for the development and deployment of the state-of-the-art models for a variety of financial applications.
- This includes the design, development and deployment of models that leverage large datasets containing structured and unstructured data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed to succeed in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree required. PhD preferred in Bioinformatics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Statistical Mathematics, Physics, Computational Chemistry or related field
- 2+ years industry or related field experience
- Experience in development of computational software (basic level with Python, pySPARK, R, SQL)
- Knowledge of AI base tools to accelerate coding and implement projects
