Benefits
Full description
appflame — a Ukrainian IT company building world-class products: Hily, Taimi, AdConnect.
Who we are today:
- 7 years on the market, 500+ employees, offices in Kyiv, London, and Limassol, plus a coworking space in Warsaw.
- In 2025, appflame ranked 5th among Ukraine's 50 best employers according to Forbes and won in the "Place for Growth" category.
- Our apps Hily and Taimi are among the Top 5 dating apps in the U.S., with over 70 million users. AdConnect and Mailkeeper build and scale our own B2B and B2C solutions.
Our mission: Flame up the world with Ukrainian products.
Our goals:
- Reach the top 5 product companies in the world.
- Become a unicorn — and turn Ukraine into a country where unicorns are born and thrive.
We're looking for daring, ambitious, and "a little crazy" people — those who love building real products and dream of launching cool startups. You have the ambition; we have the conditions to make it happen.
Your project:
Monoboost is a mobile app by appflame that helps people find and cancel unwanted subscriptions and keep their personal finances under control. It's already live on the App Store and Google Play, with 100,000+ users.
You will:
- Design and build the infrastructure for a new R&D project on AWS (EKS, VPC, IAM, managed services) — fully as code.
- Set up CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, deployments and rollback.
- Implement GitOps-based delivery (ArgoCD / Flux).
- Integrate the project into our observability stack: metrics, logs, tracing and meaningful alerting.
- Own security and access management for the project: secrets management, least-privilege IAM, image and dependency scanning.
- Keep infrastructure costs predictable — cost visibility, autoscaling, spot usage, shutdown of idle environments.
- Document what you build and hand over a setup the rest of the team can support.
- Work closely with developers on architecture decisions as the project evolves.
We'll have a match if you:
- Have 4+ years in DevOps / Infrastructure engineering, including 2+ years with Kubernetes in production.
- Speak English at B1 level or higher.
- Bring strong AWS experience: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, load balancing, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager.
- Know Terraform and Helm well enough to deliver an environment with no manual steps.
- Have hands-on CI/CD experience (GitLab CI preferred).
- Work with observability tooling — Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry or equivalent — and can define alerts that people actually act on.
- Write Bash and Python (or Go) for automation.
- Troubleshoot Linux and networking issues confidently: DNS, TLS, routing, container runtime.
Will be an advantage:
- Experience building infrastructure for greenfield or R&D projects.
- GPU / ML-serving infrastructure, or data-pipeline infrastructure (Kafka, ClickHouse, Airflow).
- GCP experience alongside AWS.
- Experience with service mesh (Istio/Linkerd), policy engines (OPA/Kyverno) or runtime security (Falco).
- FinOps / cost-optimisation experience at scale.
- CKA/CKAD or AWS certifications.
