JOB PURPOSE:
To manage all aspects of regional team responsible for the approval processes for OPITO Competence Management System Approval and OPITO Approved Centres in line with the ISO 9001 QMS while ensuring the delivery of the regional business plan.
To lead and manage OPITO's Quality Assurance function across the Americas, ensuring the integrity, consistency and effectiveness of the approval and audit processes for training centres and competence management system organisations. The role is responsible for developing a high-performing regional QA team, maintaining compliance with OPITO and ISO 9001 requirements, and working closely with industry stakeholders to drive safety, competence and workforce standards across the energy sector.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of the industry Standards and other Approval criteria e.g. CMS and OPITO Approval criteria
- Manages and monitors the integrity and effectiveness of the staff development programs when building Specialist competence
- Manages and monitors the integrity of the OPITO Approval process to ensure it meets its performance standards
- Facilitation of pan industry meetings and Work Groups
- Marketing and development of OPITO Approval as a global industry standard
- Attend various working groups or meetings
- Conducts both initial and monitoring visits as and when required
- Conducts desk top reviews as and when required
- This role demands that the incumbent will have day-to-day operational responsibility for all human resource allocated to the Quality Assurance function
- Instruction and monitoring responsibility for quality of service provided by all staff within the standards & Quality Assurance Function
- Client management · Regular and frequent travel within with in country and overseas

Health & Safety / Quality Assurance
Main functions may include some or all of the following:
- Responsible for ensuring that OPITO Approved centre delivered to all Energy employees is to the specified requirements of the industry and in a safe environment
- Responsible for ensuring that all activities comply with applicable Health & Safety and legislation, and that personnel are not subjected to situations of unacceptable risk
- Ensuring staff are competent to undertake duties · Deliver departmental activities in line with the organisation’s quality management system
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – Essential vs Desirable
Essential
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and influencing skills
- Strong planning, budgeting, project management and organisational skills
- Detailed working knowledge of the emergency response legislation, regulations and standards
- Detailed working knowledge of safety and competence in the Energy industry
- Comprehensive understanding and experience of the offshore oil and gas Industry/Energy
- Demonstrable management experience and sound knowledge of management systems and processes
- Demonstrable experience of managing and working with auditing processes
- Strong demonstrable leadership skills
- Ability to plan projects and organise the work of self and others in achieving outcomes
- Excellent communication skills including listening
