About the Role

The Water & Natural Resources Department at AKRF is seeking a Data Analyst to work in our Philadelphia, PA office. This position combines full-stack data work, including ad hoc analysis, data pipeline development, and Shiny application development, with the opportunity to support and strengthen the infrastructure that supports compliance programs. You’ll work across data, technology, and compliance, partnering with project teams and subject matter experts to build better tools, improve data quality, and turn complex data into actionable insights for leadership and regulators.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Transition MS Access databases to Postgres databases and accompanying Shiny apps.
  • Document and codify compliance metrics.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee data pipelines supporting compliance analytics and reporting.
  • Conduct complex compliance analyses and prepare reports for leadership and regulators.
  • Partner with project teams and subject matter experts to improve data quality, analyses, and processes.

Essential Requirements:

  • 1–3+ years of experience in data analysis or a related field, with a passion for working with large and complex datasets to produce applications, dashboards, and analyses.
  • 1–3 years of experience using R, preferably, or another scripting language such as Python or Julia.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
  • Experience developing data applications or dashboards; experience with Shiny and Posit Connect is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data and workflow tools such as GitHub and Power Automate is a plus.
  • Good judgment in selecting statistical methods and applying sound coding practices.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to document project scopes, standard operating procedures, and data dictionaries.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, consistent, high-quality work.

Compensation

Compensation to commensurate with experience.
