Position Summary
The role is focused on senior project management of various civil engineering projects. This includes administrative functions, engineering functions, proposals, budgets, scheduling, client meetings, tracking, reporting, contracts, and status reports. This position may have some business development responsibilities in support of the Director/Principal in developing and maintaining client contacts for developing a market for Shrewsberry services throughout Washington, centered in Seattle, as well as other geographic areas as assigned. This position may require periodic travel to other Shrewsberry offices and potential markets, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage Shrewsberry personnel (as well as sub-contractors) to meet contract/project deliverables in a timely manner while remaining within budget.
- Represent Shrewsberry in assigned locations, markets, and industry associations
- Assure that engineering services are commensurate with professional standards, client requirements, and Shrewsberry objectives
- Responsible for all aspects of the project including identifying and documenting scope of work and key deliverables and timelines, negotiating change orders, cost control, staffing and quality control.
- Provide technical delivery of complex roadway designs on projects of significant size/complexity
- Provide technical solutions, judgment and mentor mid-level and junior staff.
- Advise with overall direction of Seattle office, and transportation/traffic markets.
- Participate in proposal presentation.
- Work with technical staff to develop proposals, scopes of work, and estimate fees.
- Determines staffing levels needed for projects
- Responsible for maintaining schedule, budget, and profitability of assigned projects.
- Utilize project management software for successful project management.
- Identify key local prospects and leads and participate in project pursuits.
- Participate in client relationship management for assigned key clients.
- Develop and maintain strong business network.
- Research and gather information on potential clients and projects.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university or college.
- 15+ years of experience in civil engineering; preferably in a consultant role.
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Proven track record of project delivery of transportation design projects; experience with alternate delivery methods preferred.
- Prior experience leading and developing teams, with direct reports.

This is a full-time position with a base salary that ranges between $165,000 - $200,000 per year. In addition to salary, you are eligible for equity and a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, and PTO.
