Software Architecture Distributed Systems Cloud-native Microservices Event-driven Architecture Real-time Streaming PostgreSQL MongoDB Redis Apache Pulsar Apache Flink Kubernetes Java Golang Python System Design

Requirements

The role requires over 13 years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in architecture leadership positions. Candidates must possess deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, and proficiency in languages such as Java, Golang, or Python.

Full description

We are seeking an experienced Software Architect to lead the design and evolution of our next-generation AI-native cloud platform. This platform will serve as the foundation for intelligent, distributed, and highly scalable applications that power mission-critical workloads. You will shape the system architecture, champion best practices, and drive adoption of cutting-edge technologies across the engineering organization.

Responsibilities

Architect Scalable & Intelligent Systems

  • Design and evolve a cloud-native, distributed architecture capable of handling millions of transactions/events per second with strict low-latency and high-availability requirements.
  • Architect AI-native services, integrating machine learning, personalization, and generative AI into platform experiences.
  • Define data strategy for both transactional (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) and analytical workloads (Apache Pulsar, Flink, Iceberg).

Technical Leadership

  • Provide thought leadership on key architectural decisions, frameworks, and design patterns.
  • Drive adoption of event-driven, microservices-based, and real-time streaming architectures.
  • Lead architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical roadmaps.

Innovation & Optimization

  • Identify opportunities for automation, performance optimization, and AI/ML-driven insights.
  • Introduce data-intensive computing practices for real-time analytics, stream processing, and graph-based models.
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies (e.g., vector databases, LLMOps frameworks, GPU acceleration).

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Partner with product managers, UX designers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to translate business needs into technical blueprints.
  • Ensure seamless developer experience and platform adoption across teams.

Security, Reliability & Compliance

  • Embed security, compliance, and privacy as first-class concerns in all designs.
  • Architect for multi-region, multi-tenant, high-availability deployments.
  • Champion observability, monitoring, and incident response best practices.

Mentorship & Team Development

  • Mentor engineers, fostering a culture of craftsmanship, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Define engineering and architectural standards, ensuring system resilience and scalability.

Technology Evaluation

  • Continuously evaluate emerging cloud, AI, and distributed systems technologies.
  • Introduce frameworks and tools that enhance developer productivity, system performance, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Experience: 13+ years of software engineering with at least 5+ years in architecture leadership roles.
  • Distributed Systems Expertise: Deep experience with event-driven, microservices, and real-time streaming systems.
  • Core Tech: Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Apache Pulsar, Apache Flink, and Iceberg.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in Java, Golang, Python, or equivalent languages.
  • Cloud-Native Mastery: Expertise in Kubernetes, container-native design, CI/CD, and service mesh (Istio/Linkerd).
