Our mission

Community College Preparatory Academy (CCPrep) creates an innovative and rigorous learning environment for adults who are under-credited or have aged out of traditional K–12 pathways. We respond to each learner’s strengths and barriers while preparing students for employment, postsecondary education, industry credentials, and lifelong learning.

The opportunity

Turn complex education and operating data into trusted measures, clear analysis, and decisions that improve student success.

Why this role matters for students

You will help leaders see where learners are progressing, where inequities or data-quality issues exist, and which actions are producing results.

Cognia connections Culture of Learning, Leadership for Learning, Engagement of Learning, and Growth in Learning | Standards 1–3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 15, 17, 24–31. These responsibilities apply within this position’s assigned authority.

Essential responsibilities

  • Develop governed datasets, definitions, dashboards, recurring reports, and decision-focused analyses.
  • Validate, reconcile, and document data from student, learning, assessment, finance, HR, and engagement systems.
  • Lead analysis of enrollment, attendance, persistence, completion, credentials, transitions, and equity patterns.
  • Translate questions into sound methods and explain findings, limitations, and uncertainty clearly.
  • Support required reporting, quality assurance, and reproducible workflows.
  • Coach colleagues on data literacy and supervise or review junior analytical work.
  • Integrate assessment results, learner feedback, instructional information, and support data to inform decisions about engagement, growth, and well-being.
  • Design reproducible analyses of individual academic growth using valid, reliable, comparable measures; report missing data, differences in populations, and limits on interpretation.
  • Analyze access, intervention response, learner goals, and program conditions with appropriate group comparisons and privacy protections; identify actionable patterns without unsupported causal claims.
  • Support staff action research and program evaluation by defining questions, baselines, measures, and comparison methods; help staff interpret evidence and determine next steps.
  • Examine data for disparities, access barriers, and potential bias; combine quantitative evidence with learner, staff, and stakeholder input to inform well-being and improvement decisions.
  • Build collaborative data routines and leadership capacity that help teams improve structures, professional practice, and equitable resource allocation.
  • Lead data integration, definitions, validation, access, and reporting across Canvas, EAB Navigate, enrollment and student-information systems, Qlik, Looker Studio, SLED, PCSB systems, SurveyMonkey, and other approved sources; maintain reproducible pipelines, data dictionaries, reconciliation controls, and privacy protections.

What strong performance looks like

  • Priority dashboards and reports are accurate, reproducible, documented, and on time.
  • Metric definitions and source-of-truth rules are adopted across teams.
  • Analyses lead to specific decisions, tests, or interventions.
  • Material data-quality issues are surfaced early and tracked to resolution.
  • Specific annual targets and milestones will be established in the employee’s performance plan and aligned with the approved school operating plan.
  • Dashboards distinguish growth from attendance, retention, completion, and credentials and include clear definitions and data-quality limitations.
  • Improvement reviews document analytical findings, staff and learner input, decisions, and follow-up measures.
  • Analyses and review records make equity, stakeholder input, learner well-being, resource implications, and decision follow-up visible without overstating conclusions.
  • Cross-system reports reconcile to authoritative sources, definitions and refresh schedules are documented, and users can trace material measures to validated records and known limitations.

Minimum qualifications

  • Advanced spreadsheet skills and working proficiency in SQL and at least one business-intelligence or statistical tool.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong judgment, written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and ability to protect confidential information.

Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced experience with BI and dashboard tools, SQL or comparable data-transformation methods, and education systems such as LMS, SIS, case-management, authorizer, or state-reporting platforms; Qlik or Looker Studio experience is preferred.
  • Experience in adult education, workforce development, public charter education, or a mission-driven nonprofit.
  • Relevant professional certification or advanced technical training.
  • Experience improving processes through data, technology, and cross-functional collaboration.
