Job Description:
This role collaborates closely with systems, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to deliver continuous improvement, lead infrastructure initiatives, and serve as a trusted networking resource in support of vital healthcare, education, childcare, and disability services.
Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in IT networking required; Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
- Ability to assess, document, and understand existing network configurations and equipment across various brands and platforms
- Working knowledge and understanding of firewalls, switches, and Wi-Fi solutions, including configuration and troubleshooting methods
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot various types of VPN connections
- Thorough understanding of switching protocols (VLANs, trunking, STP, PoE, etc.)
- Comfortable with common networking concepts such as: WAN, LAN, VLAN, IP addressing and subnets, DHCP, DNS, OSPF, IDS/IPS, VPN, NAT, VoIP, remote access methods, and general network security best practices
- Thorough understanding of network monitoring, alerting, automation, configuration management, and inventory platforms
- Experience with infrastructure documentation, including generating and updating network diagrams with tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or similar
- Experience with cloud networking concepts, particularly in Microsoft Azure preferred
- Excellent customer service skills, positive attitude, ability to problem solve and detail oriented approach
- Self-starter who is able to prioritize and execute projects and tasks with a focus on timely, accurate results
- Must be willing to occasionally work after hours and weekends for planned maintenance windows and urgent issues
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (regular travel between Agency sites in NH, MA, and VT required)
Essential Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain the routing, switching, wireless, firewall, and VPN infrastructure that connects all of our locations.
- Manage and maintain agency firewall environment, including policy updates, firmware maintenance, and coordinating with the cybersecurity team on IDS/IPS operations.
- Troubleshoot and maintain VPN connectivity across the Agency, covering both site-to-site and remote access connections.
- Monitor network health across agency sites using agency monitoring platform; respond to alerts, investigate issues, and proactively troubleshoot.
- Be the escalation point for networking issues that the Help Desk can’t resolve, including VoIP connectivity problems across our multi-carrier voice environment.
- Work alongside our cybersecurity, systems, and cloud teams to remediate vulnerabilities on network equipment, support the server/storage network layer, and help maintain our Azure cloud networking components.
- Keep documentation clean and current, including network configurations, diagrams, asset inventory, and change records.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, disaster recovery/business continuity testing, and long-term network planning and strategy.
- Be a go-to resource for IT staff when networking questions come up; help the team grow their networking knowledge.
Compensation: $90,000 to $95,000 based on experience, degree, and certifications.
Hours: This is a full-time, Monday – Friday
