Some of what you will do:
In this role, the incumbent will be a trusted analytics partner to the Stores and Services teams, working at the intersection of Business, Analytics and Data Engineering to ensure the organization is moving towards a scalable data journey. This individual will support all aspects of the Retail business in establishing key operational performance indicators, develop scalable reporting tools, leverage analytics to support key decision making, and provide actionable recommendations to drive retail performance improvements.
They will translate complex data into simple reporting/KPIs and convey meaningful stories that enable field teams and leaders to make better decisions, faster. This role is ideal for someone who is highly analytical, comfortable rolling up their sleeves, energized by fast-paced environment, and motivated to continuously improve how insights are delivered across the business.
Specifically, You Will:
- Partner closely with Store Operations and Services leaders to define, validate, and evolve KPIs, ensuring metrics align to business priorities and operational realities.
- Own end‑to‑end analytics delivery for key Stores & Services initiatives, from requirements gathering, to reporting, insights generation and executive‑ready presentations.
- Build and maintain store‑visible dashboards and reporting in Power BI/Looker that are intuitive, scalable, and actionable for leaders and field teams.
- Develop and optimize data models, semantic layers, data tables, and pipelines in partnership with IT, Data Engineering, and Data Science to improve reporting efficiency, support centralized sources of truth, enable AI use cases, and adapt to evolving business needs.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to assess sales drivers, evaluate program/event performance, identify business trends, and recommend actionable courses of action.
- Lead value-add analytics projects beyond standard reporting, using data to seize opportunities, evaluate trade-offs, and support decisions that improve store and services performance.
- Influence stakeholders through strong business acumen, clear communication, and well-structured narratives that connect data to decisions and measurement recommendations.
- Optimize and simplify existing reporting to reduce manual effort, improve performance, and free up capacity for value driving insights.
- Manage project timelines through JIRA, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining strong relationships with cross‑functional partners through effective and timely communications.
Some of what you need:
- Business degree/diploma in analytics, mathematics, statistics, business, or a related field.
- Advanced SQL skills with experience in Google Cloud products, including Big Query and Looker, and having worked across large, complex datasets.
- Power BI expert user with proficiency in DAX and visualizations, including solid understanding of data modelling best practices and performance optimization.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with experience using AI tools to improve day-to-day processes, optimize code, increase productivity, and continuously identify new ways to drive efficiency.
- Clear understanding of sales and operational KPIs, effective report designs, and data schemas.
- Strong analytical skills for gathering requirements, interpreting, and analyzing data to formulate problem-solving recommendations.
- Proactiveness to problem‑solve, coupled with excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate with business partners.
Physical demands/working conditions:
- Office environment – Hybrid, with 4 days onsite in Richmond Hill, subject to the hybrid policy (for most positions).
