QA SW ENGINEER 10534- Network Protocol Testing- Python Automation

Roles and Responsibilities:

The SQA Engineer would be an individual contributor partnering with other Engineering teams, Services and Field Engineers to help build and validate the Products and Solutions for high end customer deployments. The role would require participation from design, development to deployment and beyond. The Engineers would write test strategy, test plans and develop automated test frameworks, tools and scripts to cover the various functional, performance and scalability aspects of Platform and Software solution validation. This role emphasizes building robust, maintainable test automation infrastructure and test suites.

Qualification and Experience:

• B.E. / B.Tech. or equivalent in CS/ECE/TCE/EEE or MS in Computer Science/Application/Engineering

• 2-4 years of relevant industry experience in Telecom/Data Networking and Network Security

• 2+ years of hands-on test automation experience using modern automation frameworks and tools

Skillset Required:

Core Networking & Testing:

• Good understanding of Operating System concepts, network applications and network operating systems

• Familiarity with Traffic Generators (Ixia/Spirent) and Network debugging tools (Wireshark, ping, traceroute, etc.)

• Good knowledge of VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V

• Hands-on experience with test planning, topology planning, requirement-to-testcase mapping, test case writing, defect logging and tracking, and excellent debugging skills

• Good knowledge of testing methodologies, different testing types and overall product life-cycle

• IEEE 802.1 (Bridging, VLAN, STP, MAC Security, LLDP, AVB)

• L2/L3 Features (TCP/IP, VRRP, IGMP, IPv4, IPv6, ICMP, ICMPv6, ARP), Basic understanding of IS-IS

• Network Management and Monitoring (SNMP, SFLOW, Netflow, RMON, ERSPAN)

• DHCP, DNS, SSH, RADIUS, TACACS, LDAP, IPSec, CA

• Network Security and Management features - NetLogin, AAA, IPSec, Firewalls, SSL, SNMP MIB

• Unix/Linux and Windows environments

Test Automation:

• Proficiency in Selenium or similar web automation frameworks for automated functional testing

• API Test Automation experience using tools such as Postman or similar tools

• Performance and Load Testing automation using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner or equivalent for scalability and performance validation

• Strong scripting capabilities in Python/Golang and/or Shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell) for test automation, tool development and utility creation

• Automation of end-to-end solution validation, integrated for seamless, continuous testing.

• Knowledge of test data management and automation best practices

General Skills:

• Good Analytical and Communication Skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail

Added Advantages:

• ISTQB, Cloud Practitioner, Network+, CWNA and CCNA certification

• Hands on experience with AI-assisted test-case generation and test case automation
