About SureSwift Capital

SureSwift Capital is a private equity firm with a diversified digital portfolio. We're entrepreneurial and hard-working, and it shows. We win on collaboration and teamwork, and we are looking for the next amazing contributor to join our team. Our focus is on transformation via AI enablement. Our businesses are ready for it, and we are keen to see all that we can achieve.

About The Role

SureSwift Capital is seeking an AI-native Experienced Intermediate Software Engineer to build Tradervue, the trading journal that individual traders and proprietary trading firms have used for 15 years to review and improve their trading. Tradervue has a loyal user base and is at the start of its next stage of growth.

You'll own what you build in our Ruby on Rails app, from idea to production. That includes features, the imports that bring in trades from traders' brokers, and AI features that help traders understand their own trading. We work AI-first, with Claude Code connected to our code, tickets and monitoring. AI writes much of the code. You decide what ships and own every change: you read it, test it and can explain it. You'll work side by side with our other senior engineer, two engineers who share production and learn from each other, and report to the GM, who leads the product. This is a full-time role at 40 hours a week.

The ideal candidate enjoys owning their work end to end, learns new codebases quickly, and wants to see what they build in traders' hands every week. They're excited to join a small team building Tradervue's next wave of growth.

What You'll Do

  • Build and ship features in our Ruby on Rails app, from the database to the screen
  • Own the imports and integrations that bring in trades from the brokers and platforms traders use
  • Build AI features that help traders understand their own trading, with the evals that prove they work
  • Share production with our other senior engineer: releases, monitoring, and fixing what breaks
  • Help shape how a small team builds with AI: the tools, the tests and the way work flows

Your First 90 Days

  • Learn the codebase and ship your first fixes in your first two weeks
  • Deploy, roll back and fix the app on your own
  • Make an import that traders rely on measurably more reliable
  • Take a customer-facing feature from idea to release

What You Bring

  • 5+ years building and running production apps with Ruby on Rails
  • Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Comfort owning a feature end to end, including when it breaks
  • Daily use of AI coding tools, and the habit of checking their work
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Experience building with AI models
  • Experience building iOS apps in Swift is a plus
  • An interest in trading or markets is a plus

The Details

  • Remote, anywhere in Canada. Living near Victoria, BC is a plus as there is an office you can work at and collaborate with other developers at.
  • At least four hours a day overlapping Brasília time (UTC−3), where our other senior engineer works
  • Full-time, 40 hours a week
  • CAD $90,000–$120,000/year
  • Extended health and dental benefits from day one

How we hire: a 30-minute call with our recruiter; a conversation with our GM; a 90-minute session with our senior engineer, including a live exercise on a realistic problem using your usual AI tools on a shared screen; and references. We'll tell you where you stand after each step.

We may use AI tools to help organize applications. A person reads every application and makes every decision.

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
