A multinational defence organisation is looking for a project manager who can takefull responsibility for a medium-scale project and carry it from definition to formal acceptance,with the stakeholder work that goes with it treated as part of the job rather than aninterruption.
What you would be doing
- Taking full responsibility for the definition, approach and satisfactory completion ofmedium-scale projects.
- Leading the project team, and choosing methods and tools that suit the work instead of theother way round.
- Running change control and assessing and managing risk as the project moves.
- Keeping project plans realistic and communication to stakeholders regular and accurate.
- Making sure quality reviews happen on schedule and to procedure.
- Delivering within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, and getting deliverablesformally accepted.
- Monitoring cost, time, quality and resource use, and acting when performance drifts outsidetolerance rather than reporting that it has.
- Managing the relationships around the project — suppliers, customers and internal units — sothat problems arrive early.

- Recognised project management method in practice, and the judgement to adapt it.
- Change control, risk and issue management that people actually use.
- Financial control of a project: budgets, forecasts and the discipline behind them.
- Stakeholder management across organisations and nationalities.
- Comfort with regular travel between sites.
- Fluent professional English.
