Global Tax Services is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Tax Data Analyst to join our growing team. This role sits at the intersection of tax compliance, data management, and systems operations supporting the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of Amazon's global indirect tax reporting. The Tax Data Analyst brings a strong foundation in VAT/GST principles, hands-on experience reconciling complex datasets, and the curiosity to improve how tax data flows through our systems. This is an ideal role for someone eager to deepen their tax technology expertise, work across technical and business teams, and contribute to building scalable compliance solutions.

Key job responsibilities

  • Reconcile large-scale datasets across tax calculation and reporting systems, ensuring accuracy and data integrity from source systems through transformation to final outputs identifying root causes of discrepancies and driving resolution
  • Configure and maintain business rules for tax reporting across multiple jurisdictions, validating that mathematical models align with tax compliance requirements
  • Manage data flows across the tax reporting lifecycle identifying gaps, documenting requirements, and validating system output attributes against expected compliance outcomes
  • Partner with engineering, data, and tax teams to support new system implementations and integrations, serving as a reliable liaison who can translate between technical and business contexts
  • Support change management activities for new system implementations, including testing, validation, and documentation of updated processes
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives identifying inefficiencies in existing workflows and proposing practical, scalable solutions

Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level - Knowledge of strong understanding of tax compliance principles, regulations, and reporting requirements across jurisdictions - Experience in international indirect tax planning and strong understanding of or practical experience with tax laws in other countries - Experience a compliance focused tax role in a multinational and/or professional organization - Experience working with data analytics and using these metrics to identify problems, or experience in profee auditing, coding, and documentation requirements

Preferred Qualifications: - professional tax, accounting or legal qualification (e.g., Chartered Accountant (CA), Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA), Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) or similar) - Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field, or experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
