Full description
Stafford Gray is looking for a senior developer to own and support a mission-critical master person index platform for a public-sector client in the health and human services space. The platform is built on IBM InfoSphere MDM Standard Edition (Virtual MDM). It feeds identity data to several major enterprise applications through Kafka-based integrations. You’ll be the technical lead for the platform: maintaining and enhancing an existing vendor-built implementation, guiding the analysts and teams who integrate with it, and keeping production running.
What you’ll do
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance an IBM MDM Standard Edition implementation, including data models, entities, transactions, batch processing, and configuration.
- Develop and support Kafka producers, consumers, and topics, and troubleshoot message flow between Kafka, WildFly, and MDM.
- Deploy, configure, and support WildFly applications in Linux, cloud, and OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.
- Write and optimize SQL in Oracle and SQL Server, working closely with DBAs.
- Build Bash and PowerShell automation and maintain CRON-scheduled batch jobs.
- Create and deploy certificates on Windows and Linux, and coordinate with server and network teams on maintenance and issue resolution.
- Own the full SDLC: requirements, functional and technical specs, test plans, UAT support, change requests, and system documentation.
- Monitor production and non-production environments, resolve tickets, and produce monthly platform reports.
Required
- 8+ years of software development supporting enterprise-scale systems
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM InfoSphere MDM v14.x Standard Edition (Virtual MDM)
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka
Preferred
- Healthcare or health and human services experience
- 8+ years of Java/J2EE, including JSP and REST/SOAP services
- 5+ years of Linux/Unix experience, including shell scripting, log analysis, and CRON
- WildFly application server experience
- Kafka on Strimzi, including Zookeeper and KRaft concepts
- Oracle and SQL Server query optimization
- CI/CD with Azure DevOps or similar tools
- OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS, or Azure
- ELK/Elastic Stack for log monitoring
- Flowable development
- The ability to independently own a complex system with minimal outside support
