ABOUT THE ROLE: Skechers is seeking a strategic, business-focused, and highly collaborative Product Manager, Merchandising Systems to lead the vision, roadmap, and continuous evolution of technology platforms supporting Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Replenishment, and Retail Operations across our global business.
This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring merchandising capabilities align with Skechers' growth objectives, inventory optimization strategies, and omni-channel retail initiatives.
The Product Manager will drive product strategy, business process improvement, platform adoption, and execution of system enhancements across critical merchandising technology platforms.
The ideal candidate combines deep retail merchandising domain expertise with strong product management capabilities and experience delivering enterprise-scale retail technology solutions within global retail organizations.
This role is based onsite at Skechers' global headquarters in Manhattan Beach, CA.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and maintain the product vision, roadmap, and strategic priorities for Merchandising Systems in alignment with business objectives and technology strategy.
- Partner with Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement and technology enablement.
- Develop and prioritize product backlogs based on business value, operational impact, risk, and organizational priorities.
- Create multi-year capability roadmaps supporting global growth, omni-channel initiatives, and operational excellence.
- Ensure product investments deliver measurable business outcomes including sales growth, inventory productivity, allocation efficiency, and margin improvement.
Merchandising Systems Ownership
Own the functional product lifecycle for merchandising-related platforms including:
- Product data points throughout systems
- Retail Pricing and Promotions capabilities
- Data driven reporting and analytics
- Integrations supporting Retail, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Intelligence and eCommerce functions.
- Act as the primary business product owner for assigned merchandising technology platforms.
- Ensure solutions align with global business processes while accommodating regional requirements.
- Drive continuous optimization of merchandising capabilities and workflows.
- Evaluate new technologies and industry best practices to enhance merchandising operations.
Business Partnership & Delivery Leadership
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define priorities, and establish success metrics.
- Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with development, architecture, QA, and support teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Lead requirements workshops, solution reviews, testing activities, and deployment planning.
- Ensure successful adoption of new capabilities through training, documentation, and change management initiatives.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor product performance, user adoption, and operational effectiveness.
- Identify and resolve process inefficiencies, system gaps, and data quality issues.
- Support incident management and root cause analysis for business-critical merchandising applications.
- Establish and track key performance indicators to measure business value and product success.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on usability, automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain data integrity across business critical programs and ancillary systems.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with software vendors, implementation partners, and consulting organizations supporting merchandising platforms.
- Participate in vendor evaluations, roadmap reviews, contract discussions, and solution assessments.
- Ensure vendor-delivered capabilities align with Skechers' business objectives and architectural standards.
- Build strong relationships across business and technology organizations globally.
Scope Of Responsibility
- Product ownership of enterprise Merchandising Systems supporting global retail operations.
- Partnership with Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT stakeholders.
- Management of product roadmaps, enhancement pipelines, and business priorities.
- Support for global business processes across North America, EMEA, LATAM, and APAC.
- Accountability for solution adoption, business value realization, and operational effectiveness.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Technical & Functional Expertise
- Deep understanding of retail merchandising processes including planning, assortment management, allocation, replenishment, pricing, and inventory optimization.
- Experience with enterprise merchandising platforms such as o9, Blue Yonder, Oracle Retail, SAP, Manhattan, Aptos, or comparable solutions.
- Strong requirements management, process mapping, and business analysis capabilities.
- Understanding of enterprise systems integrations, data flows, and retail technology ecosystems.
- Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery methodologies.

REQUIREMENTS:
Experience & Background
- 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Business Systems Analysis, or Retail Technology leadership roles.
- 5+ years supporting Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Replenishment, or Retail Operations functions.
- Experience working within large-scale retail, footwear, apparel, consumer goods, or omni-channel organizations.
- Proven success delivering enterprise software implementations and business transformation initiatives.
- Experience managing complex stakeholder groups across business and technology organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Retail Management, Computer Science, or related field required.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
The annual salary range for this position is $130,000-$160,000 USD.
