Senior BI / Power BI Developer

We are looking for an experienced Senior BI / Power BI Developer to join our team and support the design and delivery of Business Intelligence, reporting and data analytics solutions for our projects.

The role will focus on transforming complex business and operational requirements into well-structured data models, reliable data pipelines, interactive dashboards and actionable reports.

You will work closely with software engineers, business stakeholders, project managers and client teams, taking ownership of the BI layer of projects — from understanding source systems and data requirements through to modelling, reporting and deployment.

We are particularly interested in someone with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Power BI and SQL, who understands how to work with enterprise data sources and can design BI solutions that are reliable, maintainable and scalable.

Experience with Microsoft Fabric and the Azure data ecosystem is highly desirable, as several of our current and upcoming projects are based on these technologies.

Key Responsibilities• Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports and analytics solutions.

• Design and maintain semantic models, datasets and reporting data models.
• Develop advanced DAX measures and calculations.
• Use Power Query for data transformation and preparation.
• Write and optimise complex SQL queries, views and stored procedures.
• Integrate data from databases, APIs, ERP systems, files and other enterprise data sources.
• Design and maintain ETL / ELT pipelines.
• Work with large datasets and ensure good reporting and query performance.
• Translate business requirements into appropriate KPIs, metrics, dashboards and reporting structures.
• Implement data validation, reconciliation and quality controls.
• Configure Row-Level Security (RLS), permissions and secure access to reports and datasets.
• Troubleshoot data, performance and integration issues.
• Contribute to the architecture and technical design of BI and analytics projects.
• Collaborate with developers and technical teams when BI solutions need to integrate with custom software or external systems.

• Strong professional experience in Business Intelligence, analytics or data development.
• Ideally 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query and Power BI semantic models.
• Very good knowledge of SQL.
• Experience working with relational databases and complex enterprise datasets.
• Experience designing data models, reporting datasets and BI architectures.
• Experience with ETL / ELT and data integration.
• Experience connecting BI solutions to multiple data sources such as databases, APIs and enterprise applications.
• Understanding of data quality, performance optimisation and security.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical BI solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of BI deliverables.
• Good communication skills and ability to work directly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Very good command of English, written and spoken.

Highly Desirable• Experience with Microsoft Fabric.

• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics or related Azure data services.
• Experience working with Oracle, PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with data warehouses, lakehouses and dimensional modelling.
• Knowledge of Python for data processing or automation.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD and modern development workflows.
• Experience with ERP, financial or other enterprise information systems.
• Experience with large-scale or near-real-time reporting environments.
• Exposure to AI-assisted analytics, forecasting, anomaly detection or predictive analytics.
• Microsoft certifications related to Power BI, Fabric, Azure or Data Engineering are considered a plus.
