As a Scrum Master / Business Analyst, you will serve as the primary liaison between government stakeholders and Agile delivery teams, facilitating Scrum practices while ensuring business needs are translated into high-quality technical solutions. You will support enterprise modernization initiatives by leading Agile ceremonies, gathering and managing requirements, improving business processes, and helping cross-functional teams successfully deliver secure, scalable, and mission-focused capabilities.

Working closely with product owners, developers, engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and government stakeholders, you will help drive continuous improvement, remove delivery impediments, and ensure modernization efforts align with customer objectives.

  • Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile delivery teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions.
  • Coach Agile teams on Scrum principles, servant leadership, continuous improvement, and Agile best practices while fostering a collaborative, self-organizing team environment.
  • Remove impediments and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure teams can successfully achieve sprint and release objectives.
  • Partner with government stakeholders, Product Owners, and technical teams to elicit, analyze, document, validate, and prioritize business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Translate customer objectives into user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, business process models, and technical documentation supporting Agile software delivery.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, requirements workshops, backlog refinement sessions, and sprint planning activities to ensure priorities remain aligned with mission objectives.
  • Collaborate with developers, cloud engineers, cybersecurity personnel, architects, and system engineers to ensure business requirements are accurately implemented and validated.
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation, modernization, and process improvement.
  • Support enterprise modernization initiatives involving cloud services, cybersecurity, infrastructure modernization, application modernization, and digital transformation.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), requirements validation, defect management, and release readiness activities.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and dependencies, communicate status, and support issue resolution across technical and business teams.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including business requirements, user stories, process flows, meeting notes, sprint metrics, decision logs, and operational procedures.
  • Support Agile delivery using Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, or comparable Agile project management and ITSM platforms.
  • Promote DevSecOps, Agile, Lean, and continuous improvement practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of customer mission objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience serving as a Scrum Master, Business Analyst, or hybrid Scrum Master/Business Analyst supporting enterprise IT or software development programs.
  • Current Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Experience facilitating Agile Scrum ceremonies and coaching Agile teams.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, validating, and managing business and technical requirements.
  • Experience developing user stories, acceptance criteria, business process models, workflow diagrams, use cases, and functional documentation.
  • Experience supporting Agile software development using Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, or comparable Agile lifecycle management tools.
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder meetings, backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum principles, and iterative software delivery.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with executive leadership, government stakeholders, developers, engineers, and end users.
  • Experience supporting federal government IT programs or enterprise modernization initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, PMI-PBA, CBAP, SAFe Scrum Master, or comparable Agile certification.
  • Experience supporting the U.S. Department of State or other federal civilian agencies.
  • Experience supporting cloud modernization, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, enterprise application modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar Agile collaboration platforms.
  • Familiarity with business process reengineering (BPR), Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting Agile Release Trains (ARTs) or SAFe environments.

Clearance Requirement

Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance required.

The salary range for this position represents Acuity's good faith estimate of the compensation for this job title at the time of posting.
