Job Purpose
The Track Infrastructure Inspection Business Unit in Maintenance Engineering Centre is the unit responsible for inspecting tracks and civil infrastructure for defects and abnormalities across all lines operated by SMRT Trains. The Inspectors assess and assign a severity index to defects and allow maintenance units to prioritize the sequence of rectification thereby safeguarding network safety and reliability.
Track Inspectors are grouped into North, West, East, and Central territorial zones for work efficiency. The Engineering Maintenance Manager of the Track Inspection Unit is responsible for overseeing the competency as well as work discipline of the Inspectors, the Zone’s compliance to work process and policies, timely reporting of defects, and quality of the inspection carried out daily.
Responsibilities

- Planning and schedule of Inspectors to achieve Inspection cycle requirements
- Ensure inspection results from the zone are consolidated and transmitted to maintenance for timely action
- Responsible for audit preparation, and corrective action implementation for the zone
- Ensure compliance of the zone to all SMRT Trains, and departmental policies
- Working with the zone manager to ensure staff welfare, training, human, other work resource needs for the zone are met
Qualifications & Work Experience
1. Diploma holder or equivalent.
