PennEngineering is seeking a mechanically minded Technical Support Engineer to join our Danboro, PA team and serve as a trusted technical resource for customers, distributors, and engineering representatives worldwide. In this role, you will provide expert guidance on PEM® products and fastening solutions, diagnose application issues, and recommend optimized solutions. You will also work closely with our Application Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams on failure analysis, custom designs, and technical documentation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provide technical guidance on PEM® products and fastening solutions via phone, email, web inquiries, and live chat.
- Analyze customer applications to diagnose root causes of issues, propose alternatives, and recommend optimized solutions.
- Address inquiries on raw materials, plating, Mil-Specs, thread locking, and other technical standards.
- Support product application troubleshooting for global customers, distributors, and engineering reps.
- Coordinate with Application Engineering, Product Design, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to solve complex application challenges.
- Support product costing, special designs, and tooling recommendations for custom applications.
- Conduct failure analysis and support investigations of customer complaints and returns.
- Collaborate with engineering labs for product testing, sample installations, and reporting.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, FAQs, and knowledge base articles based on recurring customer issues and trends.
- Review and edit technical publications, bulletins, and design guides for accuracy and usability.
- Maintain organized records of customer prints, technical correspondence, and cross-references in internal systems.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a problem-solving mindset and a desire to grow into advanced engineering roles.
- Demonstrated ability to learn technical products and apply engineering principles in a customer-facing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using ERP/CRM systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical testing, design software (SolidWorks or equivalent), or manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Participation in technical seminars, trade exhibitions, or continuing education programs is highly desirable.
