As a Senior Python Developer at Emergn you will take ownership of a business-critical Python platform and help it grow.

We want you to:

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and Flask.

• Understand the behaviour of an existing, complex application and build new features without impacting what already works.

• Design and implement asynchronous processing and background job. workflows using Celery and RabbitMQ

• Work with MongoDB and process data using Pandas and NumPy.

• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues.

• Keep code quality high through automated tests, pull requests, and code reviews.

• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.

• Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Use GitHub Copilot and other AI tools to work more effectively.

• Fill documentation gaps and contribute to technical best practices.

This job might be for you if you have:

• 4+ years of professional software development experience, with Python as your main language.

• Solid knowledge of Python, from the fundamentals to more advanced concepts.

• Hands-on experience building REST APIs with Flask.

• Experience with background jobs and asynchronous processing using Celery and a message broker such as RabbitMQ.

• Hands-on experience with MongoDB, ideally through PyMongo.

• Experience writing automated tests and making safe changes in large, existing codebases.

• Comfort working with Git and GitHub, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.

• Professional working proficiency in English.

 You might also have: 

• Experience with Pandas and NumPy for data processing.

• Experience with GitHub Actions.

• Experience with AWS services.

• Knowledge of Node.js or Vue.js.

• Experience in financial services projects, such as pensions or insurance.

Location requirement:

• This opportunity requires you to be based in Latvia, Riga.
