The Role at a Glance:

Pete & Gerry's Organics is seeking an experienced Senior Systems & Network Administrator to own the design, security, performance, and reliability of our corporate IT infrastructure and network across our headquarters, plant, and remote sites. This role is a hands-on technical leadership position responsible for enterprise systems, networking, virtualization, backup/disaster recovery, and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented systems professional who is comfortable working in a food manufacturing environment where uptime, data integrity, and audit-readiness are critical to the business.

How You’ll Create Greater Impact:

Systems & Network Administration

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize on-premises and cloud server infrastructure, including Azure Active Directory, Azure cloud servers, VMWare, Hypervisor, Veeam, Windows Server, Azure Arc, Active Directory, Microsoft InTune, DNS/DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Design, configure, and support the corporate and plant-floor network, including switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure (Ubiquiti UniFi) for all corporate sites.
  • Manage and maintain the VMware virtualization environment, including capacity planning, patching, and performance tuning.
  • Own backup and disaster recovery operations using Veeam, including regular restore testing and documentation of recovery procedures.
  • Monitor network and system health using Auvik and other monitoring tools; proactively identify and resolve performance or availability issues.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune) and cloud infrastructure hosted in Azure and/or AWS.
  • Manage assigned IT tickets, change requests, and project tracking through Jira, ensuring timely resolution and clear documentation.

SOX Compliance & IT General Controls

  • Execute SOX compliance and IT General Controls (ITGC), including access management, change management, and backup/recovery controls.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation of system configurations, user access reviews, and control procedures.
  • Partner with Finance, internal stakeholders, and external auditors during quarterly and annual SOX testing, providing evidence and remediating findings.
  • Implement and enforce least-privilege access controls, segregation of duties, and periodic user access recertification across critical systems.
  • Maintain change management logs and approval workflows for production system and network changes.

Manufacturing & Plant Systems Support

  • Support and help secure operational technology (OT) on the plant floor and other production/automation network segments.
  • Coordinate with plant operations, maintenance, and equipment vendors on system integrations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

Security & Risk Management

  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including endpoint protection, patch management, MFA, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Monitor security incidents and lead response and remediation efforts in coordination with leadership.
  • Collaborate with vCISO on security posture, evolution and lead the implementation of remediation plans and future growth.

Vendor & Project Management

  • Evaluate, recommend, and manage relationships with IT vendors, MSPs, and service providers.
  • Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects such as network upgrades, cloud migrations, and system implementations, from planning through go-live.
  • Provide escalated technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff and end users.

What You’ll Bring to the Flock:

We are one team — united by respect and a shared commitment to doing what’s right. What we do every day connects to something bigger. You’ll bring your experience, perspective, and pride in your work. We value collaboration, curiosity, and diverse viewpoints — because they make our flock stronger.
