Currently seeking a Project Manager for a Residential General Contractor servicing the New Jersey, working on residential and commercial construction.

This position involves both administrative and field responsibilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our estimating team to prepare proposals while also coordinating with subcontractors and vendors on projects. Communication with clients, architects, and other industry partners is key. The candidate should have 5-10 years of experience in the commercial construction design/build industry and possess a solid understanding of industry methods and procedures.

Successful candidates will consistently demonstrate strong presentation and written/verbal communication skills, adaptability during times of change, and the ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively. The role requires excellent time management, organizational skills, and some knowledge of sales and marketing.

 

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction administration, or equivalent related work experience
  • 5-10 years project management experience working on residential, commercial and/or ground up projects
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Must be a team player and work well with others
  • Candidates must possess a strong work ethic
  • Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies

 

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of assigned projects, leading all phases from pre-construction, planning, and construction to closeout and post-construction services.
  • Maintain strategic oversight, focusing on risk management, profitability, and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage budgets and oversee all project documentation, ensuring daily requirements are met, progress is documented, and any challenges are promptly reported to management.
  • Identify and address critical constructability issues, including cost and logistical challenges, early in the project.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring that work aligns with project schedules and profit targets.
  • Continuously update knowledge of current and past construction practices to apply best practices effectively.
  • Be available for occasional night and weekend work as needed, and travel as required.
  • Accurately track and report time worked, along with equipment and material usage.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and industry partners to ensure ongoing engagement and satisfaction.
  • Provide comprehensive project reporting and maintain regular communication with the project team, design team, and clients.
  • Work is a combination of virtual and field involvement depending on project requirements and level of engagement needed.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements: Walking and/or standing throughout the day. Frequent driving and sitting. Occasionally climbing ladders. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme conditions such as heat. The noise level in the work environment and jobsites can be loud. Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel Requirements: This is a full-time position, working 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, 45 hours per week. Travel is required and is primarily local. However, some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Pay Rate: Commensurate with experience and responsibilities, with the possibility of bonus pay and increases based on merit.
