As a Network Engineer, you will operate, troubleshoot, and document secure network infrastructure supporting mission systems in a highly technical environment. You will work across Cisco and Arista platforms, firewalls, secure networking equipment, storage-connected infrastructure, and engineering drawings while resolving operational requests through Jira. You'll have the opportunity to combine hands-on network support with security compliance and infrastructure documentation while directly contributing to reliable mission operations. You'll also end your day knowing that you're doing work that truly matters.
Position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph level clearance. US citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
- Configure, administer, and sustain Cisco and Arista network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot routing, switching, firewall, connectivity, and performance issues affecting mission systems.
- Support Cisco ASA firewalls and SafeNet or comparable secure communications equipment.
- Work Jira tickets for incidents, service requests, configuration changes, and hardware support.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, rack layouts, and technical documentation using Microsoft Visio.
- Coordinate with systems, storage, cybersecurity, and operations teams to resolve cross-domain infrastructure issues.
- Support NetApp-connected infrastructure and related network dependencies.
- Implement approved configuration changes and verify system availability following maintenance.
- Support security compliance, configuration management, and documentation requirements.
- Communicate technical status, risks, and recommended actions to team members and mission stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Experience configuring and sustaining Cisco enterprise network infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco ASA firewalls and Jira-based operational workflows.
- Experience troubleshooting routing, switching, and secure network connectivity.
- Experience creating or updating network drawings using Microsoft Visio or a similar tool.
- Familiarity with Arista, SafeNet, and NetApp technologies.
- Current certification meeting DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level I requirements.
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph-level clearance.
- Candidates must meet one of the following education and experience combinations:
- A high school diploma or GED, plus twelve (12) years of network engineering experience;
- A bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline, plus eight (8) years of network engineering experience; or
- A master's degree in a related technical discipline, plus six (6) years of network engineering experience.
Desired Skills
- Experience supporting secure mission or intelligence systems.
- Experience with network configuration management and compliance documentation.
- Familiarity with storage networking and NetApp environments.
- Experience automating network health checks, inventory, or compliance tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across technical disciplines.
