About the role

Toqan is Prosus' internal AI platform, used by teams across the group to build, test, and deploy GenAI use cases. We're looking for a Technical Product Manager to own the platform's product direction and drive adoption across Prosus teams and portfolio companies. You'll sit at the intersection of engineering, applied AI research, and the internal teams using Toqan to solve real business problems.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You'll define what Toqan builds next, run adoption with internal teams, and turn scattered use cases into a coherent product roadmap — while acting as the buffer between the engineering team and the outside world, so the people doing the hard technical work can stay focused on delivering against ambitious milestones.

What you'll do

• Own the Toqan product roadmap: prioritize features based on internal team feedback, technical feasibility, and business impact.

• Sharply identify what's actually important right now — dig into the core of the problem you're solving and cut it into smaller, executable pieces rather than trying to do everything at once.

• Shield the team from external noise and distractions, making sure engineers stay focused on technical execution rather than getting pulled into every incoming request or stakeholder concern.

• Drive adoption: work directly with teams across Prosus to scope use cases, define MVPs and success criteria, and get them to first production value.

• Translate ambiguous needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the engineering team.

• Be the primary interface between Toqan's engineering team and internal stakeholders, communicating trade-offs, timelines, and priorities clearly in both directions — including pushing back on stakeholders or senior leaders when their ask isn't the right one.

• Get hands-on with the platform: test prompts, evaluate model outputs, understand where Toqan works well and where it breaks.

• Define and track adoption and usage metrics. Know which teams are getting value and which aren't, and why.

• Anticipate risk and determine the right bets to take — then commit, execute decisively, and course-correct as new information comes in rather than second-guessing the plan indefinitely.

• Build reusable playbooks from what works, so onboarding new teams gets faster over time.

• Communicate and train: host webinars and enablement sessions for internal teams adopting Toqan.

• Stay current on the GenAI landscape (models, frameworks, evaluation methods) and bring relevant developments back into the roadmap.

What you'll bring

• 4+ years of product management experience, ideally on AI-driven, data, or developer-facing platforms.

• An intuitive understanding of how AI agents actually work — you can clearly distinguish what's a “feature” versus what's a “skill” in an agentic system, not just at a conceptual level.

• Hands-on exposure to AI coding/agent tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar — you've actually used these tools, not just read about them.

• Real technical fluency in GenAI: prompting, embeddings, RAG, evaluation. Enough to prototype and assess outputs yourself, without needing to be the engineer.

• Strong technical fluency specifically with engineers as key stakeholders — you can hold your own in a technical conversation and earn credibility with the people building the product.

• Track record of shipping product in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, not just running an established roadmap.

• A customer-first mindset with a real product vision, and the ability to translate business requirements into clear technical requirements engineers can build against.

• Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences. You can hold your own with engineers and explain trade-offs to a non-technical exec in the same week — and you're comfortable pushing back when needed.

• A decisive, ownership-driven working style: you commit to a direction, help the team execute, and course-correct without losing momentum.

• Analytical rigor: comfortable defining success metrics and reading the results, not just launching and hoping.

• Excellent written and verbal communication. You can write a clear one-pager and also run a workshop.

Bonus points

• Experience building or scaling an internal tooling or platform product (not just customer-facing).

• Enjoys building challenging engineering products and thrives working close to hard technical problems.

• Prior experience in an enablement or platform team supporting multiple internal business units.

• Background in computer science or a related technical field.
