The Financial Analyst I plays an important role in supporting sound financial decision-making by analyzing data, monitoring performance, and providing insights that help advance MSK’s strategic and operational objectives.
Role Overview
- Support the preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial results, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Collect, validate, and analyze financial and operational data from multiple sources to identify trends and key performance indicators.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports for departmental leaders and stakeholders.
- Monitor expenses, revenues, and budget performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Partner with finance team members and operational departments to gather information and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end financial processes, including reconciliations and reporting activities.
- Support strategic initiatives through financial analysis, data interpretation, and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of fundamental financial and accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions.
- Experience working with financial systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms, or reporting tools is preferred.
- Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively.
