About the team

The IBS Business Intelligence engineering organization delivers enterprise data, analytics, and reporting capabilities that support financial institutions. The team is modernizing established platforms, expanding cloud capabilities, improving engineering automation, and strengthening secure, reliable delivery. Team members collaborate across software engineering, quality engineering, product, architecture, service delivery, cybersecurity, and risk.

What you will be doing

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering, you will lead a multidisciplinary engineering organization responsible for strategic planning, delivery, modernization, security, and operational excellence. You will translate product and business priorities into sustainable engineering roadmaps, develop technical leaders, and ensure solutions deliver measurable value for clients and the business.

  • Create and execute engineering roadmaps that align product strategy, client needs, technology investments, and long-term modernization objectives.
  • Lead software engineering and quality engineering teams across planning, design, development, testing, release, production support, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive modernization of enterprise data and analytics platforms, including cloud adoption, automation, observability, technical-debt reduction, and responsible use of AI-assisted engineering.
  • Own delivery and operational outcomes by monitoring quality, reliability, security, release readiness, dependencies, client impact, and engineering productivity.
  • Partner with product, architecture, service delivery, cybersecurity, risk, and senior leadership to communicate strategy, resolve complex issues, and make informed investment and priority decisions.
  • Develop an accountable and inclusive engineering organization through clear performance expectations, coaching, career development, succession planning, and leadership development.

What you bring

  • At least 7 to 10 years' experience as a leader.
  • Proven experience leading managers, technical leaders, software engineers, and quality engineers responsible for enterprise applications or platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technology strategies and lead complex, multi-team modernization or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycles, Agile delivery, DevSecOps, testing, release management, observability, and production support. (5+ years of experience)
  • Experience establishing and using engineering metrics to improve quality, reliability, delivery predictability, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Ability to balance product delivery, platform sustainability, technical debt, security, regulatory obligations, and client commitments.
  • Executive-level communication and influence skills, including the ability to explain technical strategy, risks, tradeoffs, investment needs, and outcomes to technical and business stakeholders.

Bonus if you have

  • Experience leading cloud-based data, analytics, business intelligence, or AI-enabled platforms.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake, Oracle, SAP BusinessObjects, DataStage, dbt, or comparable enterprise data and analytics technologies. (5+ years of experience)
  • Financial-services experience, including exposure to client reporting, data governance, PCI, audit, cybersecurity, or risk-management processes.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams and implementing AI-assisted development, test automation, or engineering productivity practices.
