Engineering Project Manager Description

Our client, a systems integration company near Manchester, NH, is looking for an Engineering Project Manager to join their team. In this highly varied role, you'll own projects from concept and design through installation, commissioning, and final turnover. You'll work directly with customers while coordinating mechanical, electrical, automation, fabrication, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to bring each project together. With projects spanning a wide range of regulated and process-driven industries, no two projects are alike. This is a great opportunity for an engineer or plant professional who enjoys combining technical problem-solving, project management, and customer interaction.

Engineering Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from kickoff through design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and final turnover
  • Serve as the primary customer contact, understanding project needs, providing updates, and driving successful project delivery
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables
  • Coordinate across mechanical, electrical, automation, fabrication, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep projects moving forward
  • Review P&IDs, equipment layouts, drawings, and engineered solutions with customers and internal teams
  • Partner with controls and automation engineers on process controls and system integration
  • Monitor progress, flag potential challenges, and keep projects on schedule and within budget
  • Lead customer and internal project meetings and build strong client relationships
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing competing deadlines
  • Communicate effectively across customers, engineers, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams

Engineering Project Manager Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in project management, engineering, manufacturing, plant operations, maintenance, or a related technical environment required
  • Experience with industrial equipment required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
