As our new Project Manager, you will own the client relationship as the primary point of contact and lead the day-to-day delivery of industrial EPC/EPCM and advanced-manufacturing projects within our Solutions for Industry group, managing scope, schedule, and budget from project setup through closeout. You will also provide and drive the project execution strategy for each assignment, setting the approach to scope, risk, and resourcing and aligning the project team around it. You will work alongside project owners, engineering managers, schedulers, construction managers, and discipline leads to deliver projects that meet client objectives, quality standards, and Ramboll's project execution client objectives, quality standards, and Ramboll's project execution requirements. This position may be considered hybrid, with travel to project sites and client locations as needed.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle, building trusted relationships, managing expectations, and identifying opportunities for future work.
  • Lead project planning and execution by managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk to successfully deliver complex projects from kickoff through closeout.
  • Align clients, project teams, and subcontractors around project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria while proactively managing scope changes and resolving issues.
  • Direct multidisciplinary project teams to achieve goals related to quality, cost, schedule, safety, and sustainable project delivery.
  • Monitor project financial and operational performance, manage procurement and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with Ramboll's project governance standards.
  • Report project performance to leadership, mitigate project risks, and oversee project closeout activities, including client acceptance, final invoicing, lessons learned, and client satisfaction follow-up.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, plus 6+ years of relevant project management experience in industrial, EPC/EPCM, or advanced-manufacturing environments; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-million-dollar capital projects from initiation through closeout, including budget, schedule, and client-relationship ownership.
  • Experience in the energy transition, industrial manufacturing, or heavy-industrial construction sectors is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of project controls, including earned value management, resource/cost loading, and schedule (critical path) analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) development.
  • Experience with project financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., Maconomy or a similar ERP).

Project Management & Leadership

  • Lead cross-discipline project teams, including engineers, construction managers, schedulers, and procurement specialists.
  • Develop and drive the project execution strategy for each assignment, translating it into execution plans, risk registers, and contingency plans that align the project team around a clear path to delivery.
  • Facilitate client and internal steering-committee meetings, and represent Ramboll in client-facing project reviews.
  • Mentor and develop junior project staff, and support succession planning within the project delivery team.
  • Proactively manage change orders, claims, and project risk related to quality, safety, schedule, and revenue recognition.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with Project Owners, Engineering Managers, and Construction Managers to align delivery across the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain clear, regular communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Preferred Certifications

Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or a similar project management certification preferred.

Salary Transparency Statement

At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
