Now hiring for a Network Engineer at AMT Headquarters in Peoria! Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is the premier provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance services in Central and Western Illinois, as well as parts of Iowa. AMT is a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit. AMT is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented IT Specialist to help design, manage, and optimize our organization's hardware and software infrastructure. In this role, you will oversee the core network systems essential to our daily operations and directly assist in delivering high-quality IT services. Working closely with cross-functional operational teams and fellow IT members, you will identify, develop, and implement cost-effective technology solutions that align with AMT’s strategic vision, operational goals, and long-term growth. Key Responsibilities: (include but not limited to) Network Engineering & Architecture Design and implement scalable networks for both new and existing corporate sites. Apply advanced knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols, SD-WAN, VLANs, and site-to-site VPNs. Research emerging technologies and analyze their feasibility to enhance AMT’s infrastructure. Utilize basic automation and PowerShell scripting to streamline routine network tasks. Maintain virtualized servers using a foundational knowledge of virtual infrastructure. Technical Support & Troubleshooting Resolve Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical issues promptly to minimize operational downtime. Escalate complex problems to third-tier engineering teams or vendors when necessary. Troubleshoot network issues across WLAN and LAN environments. Fix mobile hardware, software, and applications through advanced troubleshooting. System Maintenance & Security Schedule, test, and deploy regular operating system patches across systems. Follow incident handling procedures using solid information security knowledge. Create clear documentation and diagrams detailing system functionality and procedures. Collaboration & Strategy Train and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff. Align IT solutions with AMT’s strategic vision to support continuous business growth. Pursue personal growth and professional advancement opportunities within the team.
