POSITION SUMMARY
Purpose
The incumbent is responsible to execute large complex projects in Korea till successful completion. The incumbent has the ability to handle various projects with a supervisor role for people management as well. The incumbent also required to provide support to Product Line / Proposal Manager in the major product / project development and bid activities as project representative and is recognized to well understand what electronic grade product and its requirement from customer are thru variable project execution and experience in that area.
Nature and Scope
The incumbent has management responsibility for executing large complex projects in Korea. The incumbent should develop the project execution strategy and have accountablity for the project safety, budget, schedule and quality. The incument is the project execution representative in project task force team or steering team, managing interfaces within PDO functional groups in Korea, Asia and across globe, and cross-functional team (Procurement, Caojing Manufacturing, Operations, and Business Area). The incumbent is also accountable for managing local sub-contractors such as Local Design Institutes performing detailed design, construction contractors, and will be the primary contact with customer and local authorities within project team.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Supporting Product / Project Development activities to ensure on time delivery of product deliverables and competitive bids with high quality line by line estimates, scope definitions and execution strategy.
- Accountable and managing a project team for successful execution of project with size over $1 bill USD.
- Controlling the project cost within budget, ensuring the completion of project within the committed schedule while achieving critical success factors of safety, cost, schedule, quality, and reliability.
- Managing the resource allocation to support project execution activities, while ensuring resources and skill sets are matched to the complexity of the opportunities.
- Ensuring adequate and effective communication within the project team, within and across the regional project execution team and other functional areas, working with Customers, Vendors, and/or JV Partners to accomplish project goals and ensure sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and feedback.
- Maintaining systematic and healthy working relationships with counterparts in China, US and Europe in support of global consistency of PDO work process, sharing best practices, ensuring engineering procedures and work processes are followed in the project execution.
- Ensuring project is reported out on monthly and quarterly basis following the work processes and right methodology.
- Ensuring implementation of project change management process for project, and all changes to the baseline are identified and logged in project Baseline Change Database, and approval for all changes are obtained as required.
- Ensuring project is closed out timely and formally, and that feedback and lessons learned are solicited and documented.
- Maintaining Customer relationship, serving as the senior Air Products Engineering contact, from the bid through project completion by meeting with Customers to provide regular updates, resolving issues or problems in project, and ensuring customer needs are taken care of.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Job Incumbent is expected to have Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or above
- Job Incumbent is expected to have minimum 15 years work experience in project management environment, preferably in chemical, Oil and Gas industry.
- Fluent English on writing, communication.
