Overview:
The Intermediate Business Analyst is responsible for independently leading business analysis and solution design activities across client and internal initiatives. The role bridges business needs and technology solutions through discovery, analysis, requirements engineering, process design, and solution modelling. The Intermediate BA contributes to opportunity shaping, solution development, project delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives while building consulting and stakeholder management capabilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and discovery sessions.
- Gather, analyse, and validate business requirements.
- Conduct current-state and future-state process analysis.
- Identify business challenges, opportunities, and solution options.
- Support opportunity assessments, bids, and proposals.
- Translate business needs into solution designs.
- Develop user journeys, process models, and wireframes.
- Define business rules and functional requirements.
- Collaborate with UX, development, and technical teams.
- Identify opportunities for automation, AI, and digital transformation.
- Document and manage functional and non-functional requirements.
- Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases.
- Maintain requirements traceability and quality.
- Support change management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings with business and technical stakeholders.
- Present findings, recommendations, and solution concepts.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and build trusted relationships.
- Support Agile and Waterfall project delivery activities.
- Assist development teams with requirements clarification.
- Participate in testing, demonstrations, and user acceptance activities.
- Validate delivered solutions against business requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes and solution delivery.
- Contribute to the Business Analysis Community of Practice.
- Support knowledge sharing and mentor Graduate and Junior Business Analysts.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant Business Analysis certification (advantageous), such as ECBA, CCBA, Agile BA, or BPMN.
- 3–5 years Business Analysis experience.
- Experience facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagements.
- Experience documenting requirements and business processes.
- Experience working on software implementation or development projects.
