Your mission

Working model: Hybrid 

countX is a Berlin-based SaaS company that simplifies EU VAT compliance for e-commerce businesses. Our platform automates VAT registration, reporting, and compliance processes, enabling online merchants to expand across Europe with less administrative effort and lower compliance risk.

We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to own and scale our AWS infrastructure, streamline deployments, and ensure high availability and security across our systems. You’ll be working closely with engineering teams to make our software delivery process fast, reliable, and cost-efficient — all powered by AWS and the AWS CDK.

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and improve AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK (TypeScript/Python)
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, or similar)
  • Automate deployments, infrastructure provisioning, and operational workflows
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance using AWS-native tools (CloudWatch, X-Ray, etc.)
  • Implement logging, alerting, and observability best practices
  • Manage networking, security groups, IAM roles, and secrets securely
  • Drive cost optimization strategies in AWS
  • Collaborate with developers to improve development-to-production workflows
  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident resolution

Your profile

  • 5+ years in a DevOps, SRE, or similar role
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, CloudFront, etc.)
  • Proven experience with AWS CDK for Infrastructure as Code
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, etc.)
  • Good scripting skills (TypeScript, Python, or Bash)
  • Solid knowledge of Docker and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes)
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and AWS best practices
  • Experience with monitoring/observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar)

Nice to Have• Experience with AWS cost optimization and tagging strategies

  • Knowledge of serverless architectures (Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge)
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR)
