We are looking for a senior Java engineer with a strong performance engineering background to join a global financial technology platform team in Zurich.

What you will be doing

You will work within a cross-functional Scrum team on a high-throughput, enterprise-grade platform serving the global Securities Finance and Collateral market. Your focus will be on identifying and eliminating performance bottlenecks, rearchitecting critical components for scalability, and driving the platform's technical evolution alongside senior architects.

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years of hands-on Java enterprise development (Java SE/JEE, Spring, JPA/Hibernate)
  • Real performance engineering experience acquired through development work: profiling, GC tuning, load testing, bottleneck analysis
  • Strong SQL skills (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server)
  • Background in financial services or high-throughput enterprise systems
  • Solid understanding of software design and enterprise architectural patterns
  • Experience working in Agile, distributed team environments
  • Strong communication skills in English

Good to have

  • Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift
  • CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Apache Camel or similar integration frameworks
