Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America. By combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost.

Following our $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation, Hadrian is rapidly expanding our manufacturing footprint, launching new capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, additive manufacturing, and more, while scaling our Factory-as-a-Service platform to transform how critical products are built.

Backed by leading investors including JPMorgan Chase, Valor Equity Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, 137 Ventures, Lux Capital, T. Rowe Price, and Morgan Stanley, we’re building the future of American manufacturing—and looking for exceptional people to help make it happen.

If you’re ready to take on the most challenging and rewarding work of your career while helping create American manufacturing jobs for generations to come, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

The Role:

The Construction Quality Assurance Manager will support the redevelopment and buildout of Hadrian’s advanced manufacturing facility in Cherokee, Alabama. This position will serve as the primary field representative for construction quality assurance and will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the owner’s construction quality assurance program across the project.

The Construction Quality Assurance Manager will work directly with Hadrian’s project team to provide field-level quality oversight of construction activities and will coordinate closely with the General Contractor, subcontractors, design engineers, third-party testing and inspection agencies, commissioning personnel, and equipment teams.

This is an owner-side quality assurance role. The General Contractor and subcontractors remain responsible for controlling the quality of their work and delivering construction that complies with the Contract Documents. The Construction Quality Assurance Manager will independently verify that appropriate quality control processes are being implemented, construction complies with project requirements, required testing and inspections are performed, and identified deficiencies are properly resolved.

The successful candidate will be highly field-oriented and capable of identifying quality risks before they affect downstream construction, equipment installation, commissioning, manufacturing operations, cost, or schedule.

What You’ll Do

Construction Quality Assurance Program

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Hadrian’s project-specific Construction Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Establish quality assurance processes, documentation requirements, inspection protocols, and acceptance criteria across construction scopes.
  • Review the General Contractor’s project-specific Quality Control Plan and verify that appropriate QC processes are being implemented in the field.
  • Establish clear responsibilities between Hadrian, the General Contractor, subcontractors, design engineers, and third-party testing and inspection agencies.
  • Review and monitor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for critical construction activities.
  • Establish appropriate hold points, witness points, inspection requirements, and documentation requirements for critical work.
  • Identify high-risk construction activities and establish appropriate quality oversight before work begins.
  • Perform periodic audits of the GC’s quality program and identify gaps, trends, or systemic issues requiring corrective action.
  • Promote a proactive quality program focused on preventing defects rather than identifying problems after installation.

Field Quality Oversight

  • Maintain a strong field presence and routinely observe active construction activities throughout the facility.
  • Work directly with Hadrian Field Engineers and Superintendent to identify potential quality issues and verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Verify construction is being performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, design revisions, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Verify that current approved construction documents are being utilized in the field.
  • Monitor workmanship and installation quality across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, process utility, and equipment-support scopes.
  • Identify work that does not comply with project requirements and coordinate resolution with the appropriate project stakeholders.
  • Establish and manage the project process for identifying, documenting, tracking, and closing construction deficiencies and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Coordinate NCR resolution with the General Contractor, subcontractors, design engineers, and Hadrian construction team.
  • Verify critical work prior to concealment, concrete placement, equipment installation, energization, startup, or turnover as applicable.
  • Participate in preparatory and pre-installation meetings for critical or high-risk scopes.
  • Verify that installed materials and equipment conform to approved submittals and project requirements.
  • Escalate significant or recurring quality issues to Hadrian construction leadership.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant construction experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years of progressive construction experience with significant responsibility for quality assurance, quality control, field engineering, inspection, superintendent, or construction management activities.
  • Experience supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, mission-critical, or technically complex construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, design revisions, and construction sequencing.
  • Demonstrated experience with construction inspection, testing, documentation, and deficiency management.
  • Experience coordinating third-party testing and special inspection agencies.
  • Experience managing NCRs, corrective actions, punch lists, and construction closeout.
  • Working knowledge of applicable construction codes and industry standards.
  • Ability to independently evaluate field conditions and determine whether construction complies with project requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to contractors, engineers, and project leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively in an active construction environment and manage multiple concurrent scopes and priorities.

What Will Set You Apart

  • 12+ years of construction experience with increasing responsibility for construction quality and field execution.
  • Experience with large-scale industrial manufacturing, aerospace, defense, semiconductor, automotive, data center, heavy industrial, or advanced manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience with major brownfield facility redevelopment and retrofit projects.
  • Experience overseeing quality on equipment foundations and manufacturing equipment installations.
  • Experience with structural concrete, structural steel, welding, industrial electrical distribution, process utilities, compressed air, HVAC, fire protection, controls, and other industrial building systems.
  • Familiarity with applicable ACI, ASTM, AWS, ASME, NFPA, NEC, IBC, and other relevant construction standards.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
  • Experience supporting commissioning and turnover of complex industrial facilities.
  • USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification or similar construction quality training.
  • ASQ Construction Quality Manager, Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or comparable quality certification.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction certification.
  • Experience with construction management, document control, field inspection, or quality management software.
