Job Description
Position: Jr. Engineer – Data Center Facility Infrastructure
Location: Chennai/Hyderabad
Reporting To: Head – Data Center Practice
Role Overview:
Roles and Responsibilities:
✓ Capture customers business requirement, conceptualize design to meet TIA / Uptime
standards and work along with internal team for the overall designs.
✓ Design leading-edge solutions for the Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and BMS systems
of the Data Center comprising wide variety of technologies and OEM products
✓ Articulate well our value proposition to customers.
✓ Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, analyst views and apply thus gained
knowledge in real time to deliver value amongst customers
✓ Creation of solution design document, Bill of Quantities, Scope of Work, estimates
and proactive proposal responses
✓ Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
for data center construction and renovation projects, adhering to regulatory
requirements and best practices.
✓ Educate and train internal team on the latest technologies and solutions
✓ Provide Consulting Services for Data Center design and audit
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate the
successful execution of data center projects, managing project schedules,
budgets, and resources to meet client expectations.
- Direct a team of engineers and designers in the planning, design, and construction
of data center facilities, ensuring compliance with Tier / TIA standards and client
requirements.
- Develop comprehensive design strategies to enhance energy efficiency,
scalability, and resilience of data center infrastructure, resulting in significant cost
savings and improved performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers,
and construction professionals, to integrate cutting-edge technologies and best
practices into facility designs, including modular architectures, cooling systems,
and power distribution solutions.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of equipment vendors and contractors,
negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships to ensure timely project
delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct performance testing and commissioning activities to verify the
functionality and reliability of data center systems, identifying and resolving any
issues to ensure seamless operations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and performance audits to identify opportunities
for process improvements and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Lead and mentor a team of enfineers, providing guidance, support, and coaching
to drive individual and team performance. Foster a collaborative and high-
performance culture within the team.
Key Skills & Competencies:
✓ Data Center design fundamental knowledge and functioning of subsystems like
electrical, HVAC, Electrical System, BMS, etc., and understanding of Tier
standards
✓ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport
and establish trust with clients.
✓ Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities with a customer-centric
approach to account management.
✓ Shall be able to lead the team and also work on design, preparation of technical
specifications, Bill of Quantities, costing and Tender Documents.
Qualifications & Skillsets:
✓ Bachelor's degree in Engineering
✓ CDCP / CDCS / ATD preferred
✓ Deep understanding of relevant technologies, tools, and systems pertaining to
Data Center facility infrastructure
