About the Team & Role

Join Gloucestershire County Council’s Integrated Transport Unit, supporting services including public transport, school transport, concessionary fares and procurement. As our Business Intelligence Officer, you’ll be the main point of contact for the Unit’s data and reporting requirements. You’ll work with council teams and external partners to ensure information is accurate, accessible and used effectively.
You’ll build and improve dashboards, monitor key performance indicators, and produce reports and visualisations that support operational and strategic decisions. You’ll translate complex findings for audiences including senior managers and elected members, while contributing analytical insight to service reviews, procurement and continuous improvement. You’ll also help establish consistent processes for collecting, validating, managing and archiving data.
About You
You’ll have experience in data analytics, business intelligence, performance or reporting, with the ability to collect, validate and interpret datasets. You’ll be confident creating dashboards and automated reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Excel. Knowledge of GIS, databases or statistical methods would also be valuable.
You can explain complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, work independently and manage competing deadlines. You’ll understand good data-management practice and relevant data-protection requirements, including GDPR. You’ll hold a relevant qualification or have equivalent relevant experience, together with evidence of continuing professional development.
