Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Solutions Architect to help launch and grow our public sector and education business in Puerto Rico. You would be part of a dynamic team incorporating the latest in disruptive and cutting-edge cloud computing technologies to address the difficult problems of IT agility and costs. Working alongside business development and sales teams, you will accelerate the adoption of AWS as the leading cloud technology platform across state and local government agencies, K-12, and higher education institutions.

As an AWS Solutions Architect, you will have the opportunity to shape and deliver a strategy to build broad and shared use of AWS computing services (including Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon API Gateway, AWS WAF, and Amazon CloudFront) within education and public sector organizations. You will design scalable architectures, deliver technical workshops and proof-of-concept engagements, and conduct Well-Architected reviews to help customers modernize their IT environments. Additionally, you will support the growth of the public sector partner ecosystem through knowledge transfer and enablement, serving as a trusted technical advisor to both customers and partners.

Key job responsibilities - Serve as a technical reference in Puerto Rico, helping to ensure customer success in fulfilling their missions through the creation and migration of applications, software, and services on the AWS platform. - Engage and educate new and existing partner ecosystems, and support their technical implementation efforts. - Help solution providers and government agencies with the definition and implementation of technical and commercial strategies that enable them to reduce costs and raise the bar for citizen services. - Capture and share best practices knowledge among the global AWS Solutions Architect community, as well as your SA team. - Understand AWS market segments, customer base, and industry verticals.

Basic Qualifications: - Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal - Experience communicating complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences - 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience - 3+ years of IT sales experience

Preferred Qualifications: - 3+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience - Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies - Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud - Technical and customer-facing skills that will allow you to be the technical face of AWS within our solution provider ecosystem/environment, as well as directly to end customers
