Full description

General Job Function:

As a Senior Program Manager within the program team of a new build CAP1000 I&C system delivery project , you will be leading the designated team in China which includes program managers or project managers for designated subsystems and project support resources. This project will be delivered from both China and the US.

This role is responsible for strategic program oversight and daily management of the team, ensuring alignment across scope, schedule, cost, and risk for various areas of responsibility. You will manage complex I&C delivery activities, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, engineering team, and serve as the primary interface with the customers.

You will report to the Project Director of major I&C system project for the new build CAP1000 in China.

Duties and Responsibilities (in the order of priority):

  • Lead project team for successful execution of the project and be accountable for performance of the team and the project.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to supporting next level program managers, project managers, project support resources, and matrixed resources throughout life of program.
  • Own program management of assigned scopes within the I&C system delivery contract program for new built CAP1000 in China, accountable for scope, schedule, cost, financials and risk management.
  • Develop and implement integrated execution strategies, ensuring alignment with contract milestones
  • Ensure progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain contract requirements.
  • Ensure contract obligations are fulfilled with quality, on time, and within assigned budget through coordination with engineering, procurement, suppliers, mfg and assembly facilities, and project controls teams.
  • Serve as the primary interface with the customer for areas of assigned scope
  • Report program status, risks, and opportunities at various organizational levels.
  • Ensure adherence to nuclear safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Manage work in financial, scheduling, and document management systems.
  • Identify and communicate lessons learned for future improvement. Implement ongoing improvements in own area.

Education Level:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline is required.
  • PMP certification preferred. MBA or advanced degree preferred

Years of Experience:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience managing large, complex EPC or nuclear projects. Emphasis on I&C strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of people management experiences.

Professional Certifications:

PMP, PgMP preferred; WEC PgM qualification will be required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge of project management principles including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality.
  • Proficient in project management tools (Primavera P6, SAP, ARM) and Earned Value Management
