This Role This role is based in Tokyo, Japan, delivering ICT and telecom infrastructure across RHAELM's Japan data centre programme.

As Project Manager - ICT & Telecom, you will oversee the delivery of structured cabling, fibre, and low-voltage telecommunications infrastructure across RHAELM's data centre projects.

You will manage subcontractors and vendors from design through to installation, testing, and closeout, ensuring our ICT infrastructure is delivered to the standards mission-critical facilities require.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage ICT and telecom infrastructure projects from kickoff through to closeout
  • Oversee delivery of structured cabling (copper and fibre), inside and outside plant, and associated pathways and containment
  • Ensure design and installation standards comply with TIA, BICSI, and client-specific requirements
  • Coordinate with telecom designers, vendors, clients, and other trades to keep delivery on track
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and scheduling standards
  • Support testing, certification, labelling, and documentation requirements for all telecom systems
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and bills of materials
  • Review drawings, floor plans, and specifications to validate scope and quantities

Experience

  • Proven project management experience in data centres, mission-critical environments, or structured cabling infrastructure
  • Experience delivering ICT/telecom projects including fibre, structured cabling, and low-voltage systems
  • Track record coordinating subcontractors and vendors across inside plant and outside plant scopes
  • Familiarity with BICSI and TIA standards and certification requirements
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and priorities
  • Experience operating within Japan's construction, engineering, or regulatory market context advantageous

Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of structured cabling, fibre optics, and low-voltage systems
  • Confident schedule, budget, and BOM management
  • Effective coordination with designers, vendors, and client teams
  • Clear technical documentation and reporting
  • BICSI Certification or internationally recognised equivalent desirable

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering or construction discipline
  • BICSI Certification or internationally recognised equivalent
  • Relevant health & safety qualifications advantageous
  • Based in Tokyo, Japan; business-level English required, Japanese language skills advantageous
