At the same time, our technologies may be used as an attack vector for breaking into our customers devices by exploiting existing SW vulnerabilities.

You will be part of a team that creates solutions to protect Dolby’s IP and reduce exploitable vulnerabilities in Dolby products. As a Software Security Engineer, you will contribute to product security initiatives with guidance from experienced team members.

Essential Job Functions

· Support threat analysis and risk assessment activities for Dolby products, considering both IP security and software vulnerabilities.

· Implement, test, and document IP protection mechanisms with support from the team.

· Investigate the exploitability of discovered vulnerabilities using established tools and methods.

· Develop and troubleshoot software in embedded environments spanning operating systems, applications, and hardware interfaces.

· Collaborate with engineers and security specialists, participate in technical reviews, and communicate findings clearly.

Required Education & Skills

· 2+ years of professional experience in software development, software security, or a related technical field.

· Working knowledge of C or C++, plus familiarity with Python.

· Familiarity with cryptographic concepts and exposure to a cryptographic library such as Crypto++, mbedTLS, or OpenSSL.

· Basic understanding of secure processing concepts and Trusted Execution Environments (TEE).

· Some practical experience with software debugging, reverse engineering, or security analysis.

· Familiarity with executable binary formats and operating system fundamentals.

· Understanding of common software vulnerabilities, such as buffer overflows and use-after-free issues.

· Experience using one or more tools such as debuggers, disassemblers, decompilers, emulators, or virtual machines.

· Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a willingness to learn.

· Good command of English, written and spoken.

· Nice to have: participation in CTFs, personal security research, or DIY electronics and robotics projects.
