Full description

The QA Technician plays an important role in ensuring our products consistently meet established quality standards through production audits, inspections, documentation, and collaboration with Production and Quality teams. This position will also receive laboratory training and become fully qualified to provide backup support for night-shift laboratory operations. This is a night-shift position. The role will work an 8-hour schedule, Monday through Friday. Specific start and end times have some flexibility and can be discussed during the selection process; however, candidates must be available to work nights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily quality and production audits to verify compliance with established standards and procedures.
  • Follow up on audit findings and corrective actions to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Perform start-of-shift layer thickness inspections and accurately document results.
  • Monitor operator self-check activities through random wall thickness measurements and quality verification checks.
  • Identify quality concerns and communicate findings to Production, Quality, and appropriate leadership.
  • Train and support operators and team members on quality requirements, defect identification, documentation, and sample collection procedures.
  • Complete laboratory training and maintain qualification to serve as a backup for night-shift laboratory operations.
  • Maintain accurate and complete quality records, inspection results, and supporting documentation.
  • Support corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts focused on product quality, process consistency, and defect prevention.
  • Follow all REHAU safety, quality, and plant procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Current REHAU employee in good standing.
  • Fewer than two attendance points at the time of application.
  • Demonstrated reliability, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential quality concerns.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn laboratory testing, inspection procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to train and support fellow employees on quality processes and expectations.
  • Ability to work a Monday–Friday, 8-hour night-shift schedule and overtime as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with quality inspections, audits, testing, or documentation.
  • Experience using measurement or inspection equipment.
  • Knowledge of REHAU production processes and product quality requirements.
  • Previous experience in extrusion or plastics manufacturing.

Schedule & Work Location

This position is onsite at the Cullman, Alabama facility and works an 8-hour night shift, Monday through Friday.

Candidates must be available to work nights. There is flexibility in the specific start and end times, which will be discussed during the selection process. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
