Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
- Experience with distributed systems and network infrastructure.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience with Wide Area Network (WAN), data center networking, and reliability engineering.
- Experience partnering with Global teams.

The Network Service Level Objective (NetSLO) team operates the unified measurement infrastructure monitoring end-to-end availability and performance, including loss, latency, and bandwidth, for Google's global production and Cloud networks. Our mission is to provide ground-truth telemetry driving automated mitigation, alerting, and customer cloud metrics, manage highly scalable probing systems across thousands of clusters and virtual machines, and deliver insights to improve long-term infrastructure health.
In this role, you will be a Sunnyvale-based Manager to lead this US team. You will build telemetry systems powering Google's massive-scale networks, managing architectural challenges to support rapid AI business growth.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

- Manage and mentor a fast-expanding team of Software Engineers, coordinating closely with an international sister team in Bangalore, India. Set clear expectations, support career growth, and provide regular feedback and coaching to help individuals grow.
- Define and drive the mid-to-long-term technical goals and roadmaps. Direct detailed OKR planning for major feature extensions and new network products across data-center fabrics and Google Global wide-area networks.
- Partner with Tech Leads to own and execute team OKRs. Proactively navigate resourcing and operational challenges while aligning team priorities and processes with broader organizational goals.
- Design, guide, and vet high-impact system architectures to support the rapid Alphabet’s network evolutions. Establish strong connections with key partner organizations and teams.
- Align strategies, drive collaborative initiatives, and streamline decision-making across teams to support organization-level goals.
