About the role:

As an IT Security Engineer (Identity & Network Security), you will serve as the technical anchor for our enterprise security architecture, blending advanced Identity & Access Management (IAM) with cutting-edge Zero Trust network defense. In this dual-impact role, you will act as the enterprise Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Okta and Zscaler, directly designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure that protects our global workforce, data, and cloud environments.

You are a hands-on engineering leader who thrives at the intersection of identity federation, cloud security (SASE/SSE), and endpoint hardening. From orchestrating end-to-end user lifecycles and complex SaaS integrations to architecting zero-ingress network microsegmentation and advanced Data Loss Prevention (DLP), you will ensure our security posture remains ironclad without compromising operational agility.

This role is ideal for a proactive, analytically driven engineer who can independently troubleshoot complex routing and authentication issues, champion modern security baselines across Windows and macOS, and confidently articulate strategic security decisions to both engineering teams and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identity & Access Management (IAM):

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Okta, overseeing administration, design, maintenance, and policy configuration across the enterprise.

• Manage Okta end-to-end, including IAM, SSO, MFA, application onboarding/integration, and lifecycle management (provisioning, deprovisioning, role-based access control, and Joiner-Mover-Leaver processes).

• Lead technical application integrations using SAML, OIDC, OAuth, and SCIM protocols.

• Stay current with new Okta features and proactively recommend adoption where relevant.

• Network & Cloud Security (Zero Trust / SASE):

• Serve as the hands-on engineering lead for core Zscaler cloud capabilities, including ZIA, ZPA, Zscaler Client Connector, App Connectors, Private Service Edges, Workload Communications, Microsegmentation, Zscaler AI Firewall, and AI Guard.

• Establish security architecture principles aligned with Zero Trust frameworks to reduce public IP exposure.

• Data Loss Prevention & Operational Security:

• Enhance DLP capabilities across endpoints, web traffic, and email streams.

• Lead troubleshooting of networking, routing, DNS, TLS, authentication, and connectivity challenges.

• Resolve routine and complex technical issues independently, coordinating with cross-functional teams to drive resolution.

• Independently manage endpoint security and compliance activities across macOS and Windows environments, including security baselines, operating system hardening

Requirements:

• Experience: Proven hands-on experience in enterprise IT, endpoint operations, IAM, security operations, or systems administration within high-growth or regulated environments.

• IAM & Federation Protocols: Deep experience with Okta administration and identity protocols/standards (SAML, OIDC, OAuth/OAuth2, SCIM, Kerberos, WS-Federation, and LDAP).

• Security & Network Architecture: Solid understanding of infrastructure security concepts: layered network security, DMZs, IPS/IDS, VPNs, DLP, PAM, and Cisco Meraki network environments.

• Endpoint & Threat Defense: Hands-on experience with macOS and Windows hardening, EDR/AV solutions, and endpoint management tools.

• Troubleshooting & Technical Depth: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills across networking, authentication, and OS platforms.

• Collaboration & Scripting: Experience with or comfort configuring automation and agent-based tools. And strong communication skills with the ability to explain security decisions to both technical engineers and business stakeholders.

Preferred skills:

• Experience securing AI, GenAI, and cloud-native workloads using Zscaler AI Firewall and AI Guard.

• Relevant certifications: Okta Certified Professional/Administrator, Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional/Specialist, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or equivalent.

• Strong technical foundation in SASE, SSE, and Zero Trust architectures.

• Knowledge of SaaS operational security practices, including secret rotation, least-privilege access, and customer data handling policies.
