An internship with American Family Insurance is a great opportunity to build your skillset and explore your career interests. Our summer student internship is a 10 to 14 week program that starts in mid to late May and ends in August.
During your internship, you'll work on impactful projects that make a difference at our company, with our customers, and in our communities. You'll also gain exposure to different areas of our business and have numerous opportunities for networking and coaching.
Interns may be eligible for a one-time hiring bonus to assist with housing costs depending upon proximity to an AmFam office location.
Compensation Minimum: $25.00
As a Salesforce Technical Consultant (Marketing) intern, you will work on Salesforce features that allow our agents to advertise/market to current and prospective customers. You will report to an Engineering Senior manager.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of our business, corporate culture and structure to support your work.
- Contribute creative ideas and strategic approaches in response to changing situations.
Requirements
- Must be in student status at an accredited 4-year college or university during the internship, graduating August 2027 or later.
- Must be pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD.
- Major/program must align with internship role--this may include: Computer Science, Data Science, Liberal Arts, or related degrees.
- Coding experience in C#/Java/Python a plus. Experience with SQL or database development also preferred but not required. We do need people willing to learn, who are intellectually curious, good communicators, willing to ask questions, and who thrive in a team environment.
- Strongly prefer candidates graduating in August 2028 or later.

- To ensure a strong start, all employees participate in our New Employee Orientation during their first week. This experience is held in person at our Madison, WI Headquarters or one of our AmFam core locations to help you connect with our mission, meet key team members and build relationships that support your growth. At times, sessions may be delivered virtually based on scheduling and availability.
